There is a proposal to combine "Mayo civilization" and "Maya civilization".: http://www.librarything.com/tag/mayo+civilization#combine While I'm sure that the first is merely a typo, and that the combination should go through, there's a tiny part of me that believes that those who find BLTs to be the height of culture ought to have their opinions respected.

I noticed that too, but I thought first about what might be living on mayo that had gone very bad.

When I saw this proposal, the first thing that came to mind was the Mayo Clinic and I briefly pondered how one would describe the unique way of life that emerges within one of its research wards...

;-) Yes.

I did seriously check if it wasn't about local culture of county Mayo (Ireland) though.
