pick BEST HF of 2010

Some of my favorites this year:

The Book of Night Women -- awesome slave revolt novel

Music and Silence -- great romping novel of 17th C. Denmark

Someone Knows My Name -- another good slavery novel

Under this Unbroken Sky -- fabulous story of immigrant Canadian farmers

Fall of Giants -- guilty!

Death Comes for the Archbishop -- I think this counts as HF ? well anyway, I loved it

I definitely agree with Under this Unbroken Sky, but are picking the best HistFic of 2010, or your favorite HistFic reads in 2010? Those are two very different things, some of those books are not at all new.

Remarkable Creatures by Tracy Chevalier was a remarkable read.

I absolutely loved Nefertiti by Michelle Moran. I also read her other books this year, but that one really was the best.

CJ Sansom Heartstones - the best Shardlake yet, wonderful.

Palace of Justice! Also, was The Wet Nurse's Tale published this year? If so, that one too.

Okay, thanks! Just Alleyn's Palace of Justice for me this year, then, but it was worth the entire year!

My favourite HF this year - without a doubt was Flow Down Like Silver. Another one I really enjoyed was The Killer Angels.
