Looks like a good start to the year! I've heard great things about both Room and The Help.

I half liked Room, and half didn't. But most people loved it, I was in the minority there!

I'm next in line at the library for The Help! That was fast, last I looked I was sixth or something. Yay!

I loved The Help! I feel the same about Room, Wookiebender, half loved/half hated. I will be with you in the minority;)

I agree with you about Room. It was OK but not outstanding or fantastic as most people seem to think. I had expected it to be more suspenseful I think. I also was a bit skeptical (is that the word?) about The Help, but I capitulated as I went along. I really liked it.

I´ve just finished Himmel by Torbjörn Flygt. It was a book club reading - and I did NOT like it.

Nr 6 is The Mist in the Mirror by Susan Hill. An old fashioned ghost story that should be read by the fire one dark cold winter night.

I just read The Small Hand by Hill. It was such an atmospheric story. I'll have to look for The Mist in the Mirror now.

Ooh, I like the idea of old fashioned ghost stories! I'll have to keep my eyes open for The Mist in the Mirror and The Small Hand. And The Turn of the Screw...

Nov 3, 2011, 5:14 am

I didn´t like it. In fact I found it quite boring. I understand that it´s become a classic because of how it´s written but now 2011 it didn´t impress me...
