I have 6.5gb of music to go through having just downloaded this years SXSW torrents. It's a mixture of music from artists that will be featured at the South by South West festival and I usually find a few new ones that I want to hear more from. Unfortunately the re-tagging of the songs is a laborious process so I have to be in the mood before making a start.

Thanks, Bookmarque! :O)

I've been on a Bowie kick all week. I was excited to find that "Ziggy Stardust" goes extremely well with the endless activity of unpacking, dusting, sorting and shelving of the denizens of My Library. Of course, any diehard fan of Bowie's will say that Bowie goes with everything (which I agree with, in part). But I have yet to find another album of his that compliments the act of unpacking books so completely as "Ziggy" does. :O)

Ooooohhhhh, suitable. I haven't heard the Chad Mitchell Trio in decades. I love folk music.

I just bought 3 new CDs:

Brad Paisley - American Saturday Night
Kenny Chesney - Hemingway's Whiskey
Johnny Cash - At Folsom Prison

Brad makes me laugh, Kenny's "The Boys of Fall" is worth the price of the entire package, and I still have the vinyl version of "Folsom Prison," but now I can listen in the car.

day 01 - your favorite song
day 02 - your least favorite song
day 03 - a song that makes you happy
day 04 - a song that makes you sad
day 05 - a song that reminds you of someone
day 06 - a song that reminds you of somewhere
day 07 - a song that reminds you of a certain event
day 08 - a song that you know all the words to
day 09 - a song that you can dance to
day 10 - a song that makes you fall asleep

Those are the first 10. Similar?

@Morphy - I love watching signed versions of songs. I barely know any sign languages, be it Australia, American or Signed English, but I can often follow along when I know the song. This is my favourite for F**k you. This one is a version of Marylin Manson's The New S**t. It has potentially offensive language, of course, but it's very high quality.

Chirping birds. I'm never up at this hour, and I didn't sleep a wink last night. I'm just not tired. I might take a nap sometime soon here, but I think I could easily go another 16 hours without a problem. Last time I did that was in 2008, and I wasn't the only one. Several of my friends couldn't sleep that night either. I guess there was something in the air. I hope everyone's getting/gotten a good night's rest for today, though.

I was just listening to Beyonce's new song Run the World, which I was surprised to enjoy. She seems to have incorporated elements of both Lady Gaga and Queen Latifah, and it worked kind of well. The backing track was musically challenging.

Right now (song): Shock Treatment Richard O'Brien Solo Version (Not Movie Version)

Earlier today (albums):
Grace Slick and The Great Society - Collector's Item
Jefferson Airplane - The Essential Jefferson Airplane
The Rocky Horror Show (several different albums) and Shock Treatment OST
Wicked The Musical OCR
Metropolis The Giorgio Moroder Soundtrack

I found "White Rabbit" with Jefferson Airplane on youtube a while back and repeated it over and over again. :) Me like very much!! Grace Slick just has such a nice voice! I actually prefer most of her songs with Great Society over the ones she made with Jefferson Airplane, but White Rabbit and Somebody to Love is better in the JA versions I think.

I'm listening to a lovely little playlist featuring Mumford & Sons, Laura Marling, Nathaniel Rateliff and Matthew and the Atlas.

"I Need A Doctor" by Dr. Dre & Eminem has been on repeat most of the night. It's really the female lead in the background that has me enchanted. She has a beautiful voice!

We will rock by Queen.
I always have my mp3 on shuffle, so I am listening to a nice mix of Edith Piaf, Judy Garland, Eminem, Metallica, Nina (my favourite Greenlandic singer) and many more. I like all kinds of music

Currently listening to a cover album of Disney songs by Japanese Rock & Visual artists. Some much better than others.
