"combine/separate potentials" wonky, disappearing, on specific work

I'm trying to combine a 1-copy instance of a Nancy Drew book into the main work page. I go to the 1-copy work's edition page http://www.librarything.com/work/4223952/editions and see that the main work page is listed as a potential work combination. However, when I click on "combine/separate potentials", it takes me to a page with *only* the 1-copy work listed, no main-work to combine with. It's listed as a potential combination, and yet it won't show up when trying to combine.

edit (more info): I realize that the 1-copy in question has no author, and maybe that's the reason for this bug, but I know I've combined no-author copies in the past.

(please no one combine these yet!)

Found the same thing happening elsewhere, so it's not an isolated incident. The editions page for "Windy Weather Science" http://www.librarything.com/work/3711328/editions shows "Science: Windy Weather" as a potential combination, but when you click through to combine them, it doesn't show.

edit: And this one *does* have an author listed, so that's not the problem.

I saw the same thing last night, but luckily the one that disappeared was the one I didn't want.

Frustrating is right! I have had to pass on so many combinations that would have taken only a few seconds if the combine/separate potentials section was working properly.

Add http://www.librarything.com/work/1688324/9097699 to the list of works with suggested combinations that taunt you with their presence only to disappear.

I didn't know people were listing them! I think I've seen twenty or thirty at least - I thought it was such a widespread bug that I wasn't keeping track.

Edited to add: I think it's happening in every case where the authors are different.

Very very frustrating.

Can someone explain to me what's happening? I can't see any problems on the works above. Did I fix it by mistake or am I not understanding the problem?

It's the same as this bug. I have seen it happen in the past few days, but the books it affects seems to change all the time.

The examples in this thread, and the one referenced in #30, are all working, as are a dozen or so random works I've tried today. It looks promising.
