In the early '70's my brother and I read some books which were part of a series. It involved a group of children, possibly siblings, who had adventures and solved mysteries. One of the children was a boy named Gabby and he always wore a sailors cap. I don't remeber the plots of any of the stories, but I remember an illustration from one of the books picturing a statue or gargoyle in a cemetary.
