First reported here.
To see the problem go to Proposed Tag Combinations, click on "Closed" and "All Votes" and then anything in the last 250 or so pages. Pick a successful proposal and look at the two tag pages. All those I have checked remain separate. (And separated tags remain combined).

Further more, there is nothing on a tag page telling that there are proposals for tags, which has resulted in some tag combinations to be proposed again. Even though they had already met the threshold before (and closed).
Example: the tags Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) and nuclear magnetic resonance have now been proposed for combination a second time. Which is fine, but hopefully, we wont have to re-propose all the previously proposed tag combinations.

Oh great. Last time this happened a bunch of tags weren't combined, and I lost an awful lot of combining effort.

Yes, I am hesitant to proposing new (and maybe also old!) tag combinations at the moment. I am also not voting much since I am not sure it will matter until this issue is solved.

Wow. This is worse than I thought. I've found proposals as far back as page 650* of the closed, all votes list that remain uncombined. Though others within that range have been combined.
Given that all of the proposals remain on the closed list, I hope they can be recovered. Certainly currently open proposals should not be closed until it's certain that the combination process is fixed.
*example:
SilentInAWay has proposed combining the tag British History and History (British).
Vote: Yes | No | Undecided Current tally: Yes 17, No 0 You voted: Yes (Cancel) (threshold met)
Edited to add:
And strangely, just nearby History> British and History; British remain separate but British- history and British:History are combined.

So..... does anybody care about this? Because I kind of do.

Just talked to Tim about this; he's going to take a look and see what's going on - testing what's going on here isn't a quick process, so it'll probably take some time to get it all squared away. Sorry for the delay.

That's fine... just happy to get a response. It's frustrating when you submit so many tag proposals to have none of them end up working, and other people have to duplicate the effort.

This seems to have been fixed. The successful proposals cited here and in the Tags to click "Yes" on thread (post 75 and following) have now taken effect as intended, as have the successful proposals among those most recently closed.
