Where should it be? And when? I was thinking maybe on the Friday night..

Nice idea - I'm free on Friday night.
Just don't ask me where - I'm a BEA virgin! And haven't been to NYC in 13 years...
Cheers, Carolyn

Ak - message deleted before I had a chance to write down the suggestion!

Ok, I've had a suggestion for The Half King Restaurant & Bar. Apparently the author of Perfect Storm, Sebastian Junger is a co-owner, and it's not too far from Javits (23rd st and 10th ave)... Thoughts?

I don't know the restaurant, but I'm game--when?

I'm rudely inserting myself into this discussion. Half King is abosultely fantastic. Dark, quiet, good food and great beer. Good choice!

LFensterman, why do you think you are "rudely" insterting yourself into the discussion? Everybody is welcome to participate and so.....WELCOME to you! (and thanks for the input on Half King).

Sorry, am now no longer free on the Friday night!
But the restaurant sounds great - have a great evening...
All the best, Carolyn

Just wanted to let you guys know that I do want to come. I'll even be at the show itself.

Oh, I should have seen it says Friday! As of now, I should be able to join you -- just let us know (I know you will!) the time.

I'll be thinking of you all over the weekend. We'll be out of town through June 4! (of all the timing.....)

Somebody take the minutes, okay?

Ok, how about 8pm on Friday night? (At the Half King). Sound good?

Yikes! I'll try to be there, probably VERY early. (BEA ends at 5:00; not sure what to do until 8:00!)

I am going to try to be there -- some family stuff going on, so I may have to play it by ear. And earlier would probably be better for me too.

Ok, good enough. 6:30? I don't think *I* can be there much earlier than that, but feel free to start without me!

Family permitting, I will try to be there (with Chapinlibrary, even though he is not a very active participant of any group, whom I will drag nonetheless!!).

By the way, how will we recognize ourselves? I have a LT button, is that good enough?

6:30 it is, this Friday night. Please, somebody show up so I'm not sitting there alone :)

If I can get a chance to run back to the hotel and change, then I'll be wearing my LT t-shirt; otherwise, if you're looking for me, I resemble this picture that Tim just posted on the Thingology blog...

I'll be there, Abby--no LT button, unfortunately, but maybe I'll bring a little paper sign . . .

I would find your panel very interesting from a business perspective, but unfortunately I'm only going to BEA on Friday.

I have neither button nor t-shirt, so I will just look for people with their noses in books . . . oh wait, you'll be talking to each other! I'll figure it out, or you'll probably see me carrying whatever book I was reading on the subway.

It looks likely I won't be able to make the meeting because now it's far too early for me... I usually get out of work at 6, but this week we're doing a bit of overtime.

(It also means I can't do BEA until tomorrow.)

Obviously, I'm not there.

Arg. I wish I were there. Someone have a Guinness for me. Wait, I can accomplish that one on my own.

Unfortunately, I could not make it (grrrrrr).
It would be nice if you guys could let us know how the meeting went (so that we can be even more envious....). Thanks!

How was the Half King? Who came? How was the conference and panel?

Do tell, indeed!!
