I love that word aa. Beats creek any day of the week!

Over here on the OUP blog http://blog.oup.com/2011/05/letter-h/ they are discussing the letter h. With the changes in language evolving through process lenition, I often wondered why us Scots have held onto the guttural pronunciation and our neighbours haven't.
