Pop Ups While in LibraryThing

Why am I getting pop-up ads, promotions, prizes, etc. while I am going through my LibraryThing groups? Has LibraryThing allowed this? Or, do I have a worm, bug, virus, or whatever it's called in my computer? Also, some words are highlighted and double underscored; if you click on them, they go to another site that is an advertisement.

In reading my question, I noticed a couple of words of highlighted in pink and underscored. I DID NOT do that. So, why is this happening?

You have a bug of some sort. I'd run an anti-spamware and anti-virus scan (not at the same time, or they confuse each other) to see if one of them can't get rid of it.

Yeah. It's not LibraryThing. LibraryThing has no advertisements when you're a member, and no pop-up ads whatsoever. It's something on your computer. Good luck!

Good work, your son. He probably made it faster too. A lot of people have somehow managed to contract one or more viruses, and quite a few have machines so riddled with viruses and especially bot-net clients that very little power is left to what the "real" user wants to do.
