I am trying to recall the name of a book I read many years ago as a teenager. I believe it was about pirates (I think I remember Bluebeard) and I remember a scene early on in the book where a young boy was snooping in a storage room where he wasn't supposed to be and to avoid getting caught he had to crawl inside a casket with a corspe. I can't remember many other details - I just remember lovng the story and I would love to read it again. Does the above scene ring any bells with anyone?

Maybe Moonfleet by John Meade Falkner? Although I would have said the focus was more on smugglers than pirates :)
In 1757, fifteen-year-old John Trenchard discovers a secret tunnel that leads to the burial vault of Blackbeard the pirate, and a cryptic note that discloses the whereabouts of the legendary Blackbeard diamond - a veritable King's ransom. The jewel was safely hidden and undiscovered until John, driven by his curiosity and lust for adventure, searches for the gem and gets more than he bargained for in the process.
