Looks like there are a few 2012 threads starting up - so adding mine now- I've dusted the corners and the spiders are all gone - there are comfy chairs and wine in the fridge - please feel free to make yourself at home :)
Thanks to my daughter Caspettee I have copies of White Woman on the Green Bicycle by Monique Roffey and Wolf Hall by Hilary Mantel - I will commit to 'White Woman' for January but will see how we go with the other - that might be an orange february read :)
Have brought my wish list over from my 2011 thread - I checked our local library catalogue against the Orange long lists and have come up with list of books I want to read so putting the list here to keep track of it- will add to it as the new lists come out.

OK - well I started on The White Woman on the Green Bicycle by Monique Roffey and just could not get into it - found the dialect too much to read - normally dialects in stories don't worry me - but this really, really annoyed me! As I own it I have put it aside may pick it up later.
In its place I have picked up The Voluptuous Delights of Peanut Butter and Jam by Lauren Lienenberg and have already been sucked in, so looking forwards to enjoying my January orange read.

I love the pic!!
Sally, I liked but didn't love The Idea of Perfection, I think I rated it 4 stars. Many did love it, though.

Peanut Butter is on the shelf. :) I'm using it for a Global Challenge, so I'll be reading it when I get to Africa. Everyone seems to love it, so I'm very much looking forward to it!

Finished The Idea of Perfection by Kate Grenville so met my January Challenge - I will join the others who liked it by didn't love it.
I have issues with lack of speech punctuation - when people speak I want their speech to have little speech marks at each end of their speech so I know when they start and when they have finished.

Adding the following to my TBR that are available at the library
The sealed letter by Emma Donoghue
The Blue Book by A. L. Kennedy
State of Wonder by Ann Pratchett
Also like to read The Grief of Others by Leah Hager Cohen but this is not at the library so have to buy it.
Tempted by Island of Wings by Karin Altenberg too, is available at the library but it sounds like it might be a harrowing read.
