Just found out about this challenge. Started 2012 off with reading Toni Morrison'sBeloved. AMAZING. 2nd book I'm on to is World Enough and Time: A Romantic Novel by Robert Penn Warren.

This is my first group I've joined since finding LibraryThing. I am excited to hear what books you all read and love! I tend to have multiple books going at once, right now I'm reading Mark Twain's The Prince and the Pauper. Sylvia Brown's Temples on The Other Side, Revolution on Canvas- Poetry From the Indie Music Scene Edited by Rich Balling. About to start Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. That just happens to be on my night stand as of today. My all time favorite author is John Steinbeck. I love to knit, cook, read (of course), garden, spend time with my husband of 9 years and our dog, Chomper. I live in the Atlanta, Georgia area currently, I am originally from St. Louis, Missouri and have spent a few years in New Orleans, Louisiana and Orlando, Florida. I've been an avid reader my entire life. Always looking for new literary masterpieces!

Welcome to the group! Looks like you're off to a good start this year. You'll find plenty of recommendations in this group -- we're never wanting for new "literary masterpieces" around here! :D

Hi Tamara! Thought I'd come check out your thread since you paid a visit to me! I loved Beloved when I read it. I agree - it was amazing. And I'm originally from a little bitty town about two hours north of St. Louis, MO. My husband and I lived in St. Louis for about three years right after college. I'm looking forward to keeping up with your reading!
