Loeb classical library

Does anyone know where I can find a full set of the Loeb classical library?

You should probably contact them directly for such a massive order. You might get a nice discount.

It would be a lovely way to start a library, unless you already own books you haven't yet cataloged...

As far as I can tell, many volumes are out of print and it may be the the Loeb Classical Library is winding down. (I just tried to purchase a set of Josephus, for instance, and found that about a third of the volumes were unavailable on the new book market and a couple were outrageously expense on the used book market.

Correction: I just went to their website and they show all volumes available. I was trying to order through Amazon. Perhaps it is a matter of short discounts that discourages retail vendors from stocking some titles?

According to the 2011 catalog, they sell the complete set at $18 each, or $9,324.00.

If that's too much there may be an estate sale somewhere. I have no idea how to go about looking for those.

If you buy a whole set would you please photograph the entire unboxing, sorting and shelving for us to lust over.

If you want new copies of them all, then you might want to talk with your friendly local bookseller and come to an arrangement with him - you ought to be able to get a sizeable discount for such an order. There are odd volumes that have been discontinued over the years (volume one of a projected series of Aelius Aristides by Behr, for example) that might be hard to track down, but generally the volumes dropped have been replaced in a different form. There're also plans to have the whole series available as a digital library, so you might want to ask yourself if that isn't more practical to access it digitally (if more expensive in the long term!).

I would totally watch that on YouTube. But not with anyone else around.

I would assume not, looking at his or her catalog (empty).
