Happy spring and good reading to you :)

Kath, I was just catching up (ha) with your prior thread and found my way here.
I love the Hoh rain forest. Did a day-long bike ride through there about 12+ years ago and it was beautiful! It's not far from where I live.
Love the picture of Duncan. I wish I could snuggle with him because he seems very snuggle-able.
You finished Gillespie and I and I know what you mean about not particularly liking any of the characters. But I thought Harriet was an incredible character study..... I loved how she steadily lost credibility as the novel progressed.....
Hope your Tuesday is good.

I like the looks of your new thread, Kath. That tree looks like it might have been here when dinosaurs walked the earth!
Glad the Dunkers is back. He looks like a good friend to have beside you while you read.

hi Jude..... I love a "jungle"feel... my hiding place when I was little..
on my grams farm was a patch of sort of wild trees..

Thanks Mamie... yesterday was good... hope we both have a good one today!
Did I mention in my last thread that Cory sent me flowers? bless him.. he didn't
send a card, but did send flowers ( sigh) They are on the porch. I no sooner put
them on the mantle then Angus was up there trying to knock them down. I can't think of
a safer place :P shhhhh don't tell him... LOL

Megan... I will miss you.. safe and fun trip!

Ellen. I can't imagine that! It must have been wonderful!
I bet that the very air was easier to breathe.. and that it felt safe..
I should live in a forest.. in a hut.. with my furkids and a tree for my south wall..lol
Dunkers is a beauty.. but deceiving. He has always been very jealous of his personal space.
It is okay to pet him or love on him, but just do not try to snuggle with him. :(
I don't know what he endured before he came home.. ( aside from having been shot)
but, he is not much of a snuggler :(

Thanks cam... I loved that tree, too! Thanks to Google !
Duncan is rather adorable, I agree :) Thank you for the good wishes and back at ya!

Hi Lynda! Yeah.. I am getting a little superstitious about leaving him behind...
you know what I mean? ahh silly me.

No idea what the day will bring... hope it is good for us all.

11Crazymamie
May 15, 2012, 9:18 am

Kath- Yeah for Cory sending you flowers! It means he was thinking about you! Angus is your cat? As long as you can see them and appreciate them, it doesn't matter where you put them.

You know, I bet he thinks about you more than you realize because he doesn't act on it everytime. Know what I mean? The funny thing is that the smallest gestures make the biggest difference most of the time, but we wait for a bigger opportunity or a grander gesture to show someone that we care and that they matter.

12mckait
May 15, 2012, 9:38 am

Thanks Paul :) Welcome, as always..

Actually Mamie.. Cory posts things on fb such as he appreciates me, sends me notes..
even wrote me a poem not too long ago! So he is vocal about appreciating me..
Unless he is dealing with his own "stuff". Then he is a thundercloud . ( um... sort of like me )
So I am pretty lucky... most of my kids come up with things at least now and then. But
also, I am their go to person when they are in a bad mood.. why take it out on the person
ticking you off, when you can take it out on mom and .. well, you know...

repeat of a message from my last thread

Please bear with me for repeating, but just in case someone else might
want to participate. I know how hard it is to find postcards in some places..
the ones I found were printed in the early 90's~

I have a friend who is asking this favor on FB...
She has been an internet friend for a long long time
and she has a wonderful loving heart..
West Haven is a retirement home where she volunteers ..
She is old enough to live there.... but does so much for them..
so if you feel like it she is asking:

I'm doing a little thing for the oldies at West Rest Haven..I'd like for every one that has read about them thru me and my Jackie's Kitchen or my blog when I talk about West..to send the oldies a post card and a little message to them..address to :Jackie's Kitchen
C/O West Rest Haven
300 Haven Street
West, Texas 76691
I'd really appreciate it and think they would love it.

Thanks in advance..

Kiva is offering "free" loans
http://www.kiva.org/invitedby/kathleen4890
Someone else, an anonymous donor is picking up the tab for others to loan 25 dollars.
When the money comes back ( and in my experience it always does.. so far )
you can loan it again. It's great~ so if anyone is interested in giving it a try... I am leaving a link.
I have loaned the same money 9 times. I almost have enough back for number 10...

after nephlets, I was online a bit and then it was ncis night.

There were sirens like mad, around 10pm. Terrible accident at local plant.
Silty year old man was injured and not expected to survive.. It happened where
my BIL works.. so my first thought was to call and make sure he had not yet left.
This was before we knew what exactly happened. There were helicopters etc... again

Hi Terri..

I know.. and there has been no update on the mans condition of any kind, as far as I can see...
To me, in this case, no news is bad news. He is from NC. Family will be coming from there..

Is your son going to attend any camps this summer? Does your district provide this option.

Pendot License renewal is usually fine. There was a glitch. I didn't know about the glitch..
When I wrote the check ( I hate checks now ) I wrote it out for the correct amount in the little box
and wrote it out in a sloppy fashion ... ( bad handwriting ya see ) so they could not be sure if it was written out for the 50 cents . They counted it an error. I do not carry checks. I had to stand in 2 lines
( not too long ) go to a store down the road and get a money order for 50 CENTS! go back. Stand in 2 lines. oh and btw.. between getting the money order and getting back to the DL place, I turned too soon and got lost. Very.. back roads I have never seen before and lots of hills to hid things kinda lost.

Then I stopped at Lowe's.. couldn't get any help. Then went to Walmart .. cranky cashier and stuff with no prices :PPPPPP

There is more.. but .. ya know.. too much .. nothing dire all just PIA stuff..
We are ordering Chinese.

We were going to go to the movies but neither of us are up to it...argh.

anyway

Mamie.. good luck with the realtor... I think it is the only sane thing to dislike people
going through your house, while it is still yours. And for Two weeks after it becomes theirs.
I do not consider it to be anti0-social at all!

rdear.. great! have fun with that! and Ice cream.

hmmm where is our Cee?

32 Good grief! After you went through all that, the BANK (which is accustomed to your sloppy handwriting) will probably be able to read what you wrote and will deduct the full amount (including 50 cents) from your account, and you will be royally ripped off . . .

38Crazymamie
May 16, 2012, 3:28 pm

39mckait
May 16, 2012, 4:30 pm

Mamie... Thank You! I will go and hunt it down :)

Ellen.. yeah.. when I first brought him home, he got very ill..
attempting to dx him.. full body xrays show a lot of pellets through his body.. He
is fine with a good petting.. but snuggles and hugs disturb him. :(

Terri.. I know.. LOL .. I was so annoyed! But the guy who did the photo was nice and friendly and
funny and it ended up okay.. after I found the place~

They don't take cash. I was going to see if anyone would write me a 50 cent check and pay them 5$
but she said it wasn't allowed... lol

So off I went to stand in Customer service in Shop and Save and get no service.
There was a woman in there behind a glass. Despite the fact that I waved and said HELLO, she
just ignored me. Then she left. I had to go and stand in line to get a cashier to call someone so I could go and wait for them. GRRR... my own fault..

My writing is so bad that when I used the little machine to sign my name on the license..
they (extremely nice, funny, friendly ) guy said maybe I should try again..
then he said it again.. :P I said that is as good as it gets. Then he snapped pictures madly while he talked to me and posted them on the screen.. funny.. no worries .. there was no one behind me being
held up by the shenanigans.

I have to say, it was a heck of a lot easier than what my daughter went through to
change from an NC license to a MD one. That DMV was a nightmare of a place filled with
mean brutes.

They had a cop there.. watching over things. I asked why. It was because people going there go so
PO'ed at the treatment that they would sometimes freak out or fly off the handle. Why not tell the workers BE NICE DAMMIT!

Kath, the New Jersey DMV actually drove me out of the state. When I was in college, and had to decide whether to keep my permanent address in NJ with my parents, or officially make my Philadelphia apartment my home, a bad day at the DMV made up my mind for me. Seriously. As annoying as PA can be, NJ was far worse. I had to stand in a looooong line to get a form, and then stand in the same line again to turn the form in. They wouldn't let me check the box and sign the form there at the window to finish the transaction with one go-through. Unbelievable.

I encountered that bit about Penn Dot not taking cash when we moved right around the time my license expired. The camera card was issued with my old address. There was a fee to then get a camera card with the new address. I didn't have my checkbook. The license place was twenty miles from my home. Grrr . . .

Oh! I love Maine! This is the first state I have encountered with reasonable DMV. Oh, for sure, there are a few idiots out there trying to figure out what to do - but for the most part, being in a tiny town has its advantages. Just a quick trip to the town office :)

Sorry you had so much trouble, Kath. CT was pretty bad - so I know how you felt!

Hope you are getting the nice sunny day we are. Nice day for porchin' and readin' (P&R) lol

52Crazymamie
May 17, 2012, 8:59 am

What's wrong with this picture - the government does not accept the most basic form of legal currency. The DMV is just a crazy place no matter where it is located, I think. When I took my son to get his learner's permit, they were offering a deal for parents. The parent of a minor child obtains a learner's permit could upgrade to the new secure ID driver's license for free. So I wanted to do that, and we already had almost every document known to man with us because that is what you need to get any kind of photo ID at the BMV. Know what I didn't have that prevented me from upgrading? My marriage license!!! It didn't matter that I have been married for more than twenty years or that everything I own is in my married name, they wanted the original document proving I was married! What makes no sense to me is that you don't need to get married to change your name, and just because you get married doesn't mean that you changed your name! Even if you get married, you still have to file separate paperwork to legally change your name. I actually had verification from the social security office showing my name change because I had applied for a new card (had no idea what happened to the old one), and that was not acceptable. Incredible!

Kath, thanks for the message you left on my thread - meant a lot to me!

ok.. ya gotta see this :

A San Clemente woman suffered severe burns after rocks that she had picked up at San Onofre State Beach burst into flames in the pocket of her cargo shorts last weekend, according to a report from KABC-TV Channel 7.

The 43-year-old San Clemente woman, who was not identified, was visiting the beach last Saturday with her family, and had collected seven colored rocks, Orange County fire officials told the television station.

Apparently because of the friction, the rocks caught fire, igniting the woman's shorts.

The woman had second- and third-degree burns on her legs, and her husband was burned on his hands as he tried to help her, fire officials said.

Officials in Orange County told KABC that the incident remains under investigation, with authorities from the county health care agency saying that two of the rocks might have contained a "phosphorus substance.

Joe and family ( Say hi to Boston for me :) Will you be doing anything touristy? ) & Kara.. you have talked me into it. I haven't even checked your thread yet, Kara.. but I am indebted to you for the two I have read.. I don't think I would have read them without you :)So I will read Fire

I have been too busy to read one single word today.. what with trees and weeding and Karola and then Keith ( my nephlets daddy) calling me to come and visit. He was alone with the kids. It was mutually beneficial.. I got to see the nephlets, feed Owen, get him off of Keith's hands ( he had refused to nap.. poor Keith) and Kim and my sister were out together so it was just us. SOOOOOOOO nice!

Keith has been a big gamer for a long time, and a fan of Ren Fairs. You should see how this guy can sew Ren Fair Costumes! He provided one for me to send for Adam to wear when he visits Craig.. yay!

It was a good day all around :) The best day I have had in a long time, in fact!

Dan wants to plant flowers under, like we had before.

similar to making purchases and leaving me to figure out how to "afford" them.

Oh yeah.. did not sleep well last night.
I was awake from 2-5.I did some reading....
And I believe that I had a visit from Aunt Betty last night.
She didn't say a thing, Appeared in front of my door with a half gallon jug

to another.. ( abruptly, I might add) and then was gone. hmmm

What Richard said re the lovely Japanese maple. We've got one in front of our house.

We lazy touristed a bit in Davis Square, with a good meal at a Japanese restaurant (no maple), and ice cream in the square's park with a pretty good street singer for entertainment. Tomorrow we pack up the young man, or his belongings, anyway, and then Sunday we celebrate the wonderfulness of him and his graduating.

May 19, 2012, 9:27 am

Well, hello Dolly! oh, and you too Kath! lol

I have come to learn that when dispatch sends out emerg calls there is a lot of info that makes it seem worse than it is.
I'm sure it's because whoever calls in is in a panic and relays exaggerated info. Or is just plain "confused".
And while it's better to prepare for the worst on a call and respond quickly... I never listen to the scanner when Ron is not home - it's too upsetting.

Rollovers (depending on what caused them) are usually better than hitting trees. At least around here.
I always freaked thinking about rollovers - but most times they are relatively harmless.
Running into a tree has the potential for truly horrendous outcomes.

I think Aunt Betty is telling you to take care of your bones - more calcium needed???

Have a nice Saturday gazing lovingly at Dolly.
{{{Dolly}}} oh yeah, I'm a tree hugger ;-)

Lovely, lovely tree!

I rather envy you your visit from Aunt Betty. I've always wanted to see a ghost. She's the one who is haunting her scheming son and driving him crazy? Maybe she wants you to dump milk on him? no . . . steal his moonshine maybe? probably not . . .

71 Did you know that you can renew your registration and make address changes on PennDot's website? It's very easy.

True, Carrie, and I use that feature regularly now. But you still have to go in once every 4 years to get that blasted photo taken! (Did I hear somewhere that they're changing it to 2 years now?) And there always seems to be some issue . . . anyway, back when I had the change of address issue, we didn't even have Internet. Heck, we didn't have most of our furniture here yet!

Lovely new tree, Kath. We have two red Japanese maples in our front yard. One of them is huge and lovely; the other younger and a bit ragged because it sits so close to the front steps that its history of pruning has been a bit weird. I love the larger one which is set at the bottom of our sloping front yard (25 steps up from street level to our front door) and I keep thinking about taking out the other one. But it just seems wrong to cut down a tree that has been there for so many years.

We had our annual community church service with Blessing of the Animals. Such a wonderful gathering of assorted cats and dogs, a guinea pig and a parakeet. Beautiful animals, who appeared well-cared-for by their people. It was such a joy! Of course, life isn't perfect, one must accept the rough to get the smooth...but the *POINT* of the books I read isn't about teenagers or, even worse, teenaged girls. The short story collection I just read, The galaxie and other rides, is chock-full of teenaged girls! They're all having a horrible, miserable time. That's okay with me.

But heroines? In books?! Perish forbid! We gave y'all the vote! What more do you want, equality or something?

I have not read these but I heard they were good and some I have wish listed

The Scorpio Races by Maggie Stiefvater
The Girl of Fire and Thorns by Rae Carson the sequel should be out around Sept.

Read and really liked/loved
The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaimen
The Monstrumologist by Rick Yancey (this is #1 there are 3)
The Knife of Never Letting Go by Patrick Ness (this is #1 there are 3) The third is a tear jerker but I really liked the boy and girl characters. I'm on the fence about this one for you for other reasons. Maybe Mark can chime in on this one. He read them right after me. Mark, remember Manchee???

167mckait
May 21, 2012, 3:31 pm

hmmm if you are on the fence I am going to stay on the safe side .....
There were moments on the last three that I had to gloss over and pretend I hadn't read.. :P

I will check them out.. not a huge Gaimen fan...I have read one or three.. but I will look..
Thank you!

will check WWF soon!

Have you ever done bacon in the oven? On a foil lined cookie sheet/jelly roll pan?

I did some that way...last week...and it's amazing! No raging "spatter" to dirty the oven...it comes out crisp..and there's not a ton of "dripping....but there's enough if you like to keep bacon dripping around, for flavoring

i'll post a link for the instructions i used:

I second Jude! Bacon in the oven is great, especially for cooking for a hungry group. Plus, it frees up the stovetop for other yummy things.

Have a great day, Kath. It's cooling off for me today, hope you'll be getting the cool down too!

Yep, we do our bacon in the oven, too! I have the Chaos Walking trilogy but haven't started it yet. I may have to give Graceling another go after your enthusiastic endorsement of the books. I did really like the premise, think maybe I just wasn't in the right mood when I tried it the first time.

Morning, Kath! Hope today is kind to you.

Ellen.. I envy your Mayvember! :) Only May and I am tired of hot weather already.

Joanne... you too huh? Hmmm

Lynda..I know, it is.. do you use a rack? Bacon.. you are making me crave it.

Mamie.. Graceling works well for me :) But I love good fantasy.
Charles de Lint for instance, is a good fantasy writer. I LOVE his books.
Have you read any?

sheesh, Terri.. you too? I am off to look at and maybe for it. Wonder if Carnegie has the ebook?

Good morning, by the way. I did not sleep well last night. ... so I am a little headachy and grumpy..
I have coffee, so that should help.

221mckait
May 23, 2012, 10:36 am

I have no idea... and never abandoning LT for GR... I would just like to have my catalog in both places. I have obeyed all instructions I have tried everything.. asked for ( and received no ) help from GR and I am going to give up VERY soon.

Thanks.. Rosie and Dunkers love each other a lot.

222Crazymamie
May 23, 2012, 10:40 am

Aw - so sweet pics! Kath - don't go to Goodreads. What about just saving your catalog in PDF format on your Mac? You know, just tell it to print your catalog, only instead of hitting print when the screen pops up, hit save to PDF and store it in your documents. You could even move a copy of it to a USB to store elsewhere if you wanted.

223mckait
May 23, 2012, 10:43 am

hmmm good thinking.. Thanks mamie! Great idea!

224richardderus
May 23, 2012, 11:18 am

Exporting files is always...fraught. Since I write a lot of reviews, I add to GR only when I have a new review. And their "to-read" function is easier to manipulate than LT's "Wishlist" function.

I'll ask a Mac user I know over there if he can help you.

225richardderus

227richardderus
May 23, 2012, 12:25 pm

*sigh* I truly understand. As a place to catalog books, LT simply cannot be beat. I've found GR very substandard in that way. I think the review attention is superior, since Powell's among others uses GR as their basic review source. And their reblogging tool is easy-peasy lemon squeezie.

Not too bad. Dan had steak, I had something calle Naw'leans Sizzle or something.
It had sausage, shrimp and chicken over rice and peppers, onions and something called Jambalaya

Today I am making bacon. Dan is going in on his day off to do
some union stuff, and take a class. I hate making bacon, but

the oven method, but it will heat up the house more, and I
don't want to do that too early.

Megan.. Thank you ! Duncan and all the kitties are sweet with each other...
I have been lucky. None of my dogs were ever aggressive to the cats. They

It's another sticky day, tho not hot. While the house is being cleaned, I'm sitting up here in my aerie chuckling that I don't have to contend with the pointless sisyphean labor of de-dog-hairing the carpets.

Five minutes later, the dog will have shed another dog's worth of hair. 'Tis the season. And not even a daily Furminatoring helps.

Lynda.. I wish I had video of their meeting. If you think this pic is good.. you should have seen that. She fit into my hand. I brought in the box from the pound with her inside. ( my neighbor had gone with me and couldn't figure out why I chose an "ugly" cat instead of one of the pretty ones.) She looked a little batlike at first, but so puny and so still.... I had to have her.. I plonked her on the floor in front of the box..
Duncan licked her till she fell over. Then he licked her some more.. she rubbed all over his face. Morgan was only mildly interested... she is all that was left from my older batch of kitties. To this day, they are only mildly interested in each other, most days. From moment one.. Duncan was Rosie's mom. And a big smile for you being so Zen.. and right!

Mamie.. thank you for the thought.. that IS what counts you know. I would love living nearer to my Georgia son, but he has to move north. Georgia IS hot!!! I hope your day is a good one, too :)

Ellen, you have a point. It is my thread! And if you can't say something nice .. then say nothing!
I don't know how I would have made it this far without my kitties... we are good for each other.

rdear.. I vacuum nearly every day. I need to do the porch, but it's too hot now. I have been very busy.. and will be busy tomorrow morning with errands. All day saturday I am wrangling kids while Kim and Debbie go crazy making too much food for her Baptism company. All of those baptism cards are so religious! Not a single non-committal one in the bunch! Oh and I flea prevented all 5 animals today!

I had to sit down and save money. At this moment, it is 400$ a year for insurance.
Does anyone have any Liberty Mutual horror stories ? ( I am hoping not, but if so, please give them up )

I am cooking for my Dunkers just now..
Dan is at class and I will make burgers for our dinner and maybe sauce for pasta?
For another day?Not too sure. Time will tell

Laundry is washer and dryer..

A productive day this has been. In fact, it has been a productive week. Much has
been sorted out. I decided that the best way to deal with the hundred or so pages of ? from the insurance companies from the accident was to put them all into a single large envelope... then file them. My impulse is to toss them but? I guess I should hold on for a while.

Hot day. Ugh.

I enjoy even "pretend" Cajun food :) a lot! I fall back on Zatarain's, sometimes

Me, too!

Glad your day and week has been productive. My week started out hellish, but has greatly improved to the point where I am in a very good mood. Yesterday and today have been very productive.

My life would be a lot easier if I would just learn to chill and not freak out every time life throws me a curve. 95% of the time, the things I worry about don't happen, and the few times my worries are valid, what good does the time spent worrying do? I need a more positive attitude. (Easier said than done . . .)

Aww, Duncan and Rosie look so sweet together. And Duncan is licking Rosie - too cute. That's the second photo I've seen of Duncan with his front legs crossed...is that what he typically does?

Have you noticed how difficult it is getting to find treats that are made here in the US? I always look and will not buy anything made in China, but a lot of it is. A lot of the rawhide bones come from South or Central America although Target carries some that are made in the US.

>264 LovingLit: Megan, Vine is Amazon's Early Reviewers program, and Kath is one of their mainstays. Leftovers are just that, items unclaimed for review after the initial offering.

I don't post many reviews on Amazon anymore. I don't like their culture of shouting at and insulting people whose reviews they don't agree with.

Cee... I found the ending very charming... wher the kitty does a flip and looks at the camera.

Joanne... yeah, he does. He sits like that much of the time. I know.. it IS hard to find good treats. And good safe cat food. I hate that this country is so quick to buy FOOD from other countries. Gah!.
And they do this while paying our own farmers to now grow food. Boggles the mind.

rd, mainstay? dunno about that .. but I am an enthusiast. I post my review, and then I never look at it again. I don't care what my rank is, or how many people give me a thumbs up or down.. I review all sorts of products and enjoy the benefit :) It is a program that they have to invite you to. I don't know the criteria....but I am happy to be a viner.

Two dogs came running into my yard this morning. I had Dunkers out at 6.
I am usually out with him, since his vision problems got worse. I rarely leave him alone for more than a minute. Anyway.. I was standing out there without my glasses... peering into the yard across the street.
I wasn't sure at first what I was seeing.. then the two dogs headed toward me. Duncan didn't see them and I got him into the house before they got into my yard. It was a long busy early morning.. but I found where they belonged and gave the owner a good telling off. Turns out they belong to the neighbor who has a daughter that my son used to date. She once moved out of that house for years/... and left her cats behind. No further comment needed.

grrr .

Now, I am outta here to do some grocery shopping and so I will be visiting threads later.
It is going to be 90F for the next several days.. so I want to get the heavy lifting done early.
So, see ya later my friends!

Happy Friday, Kath! My BFF recently mentioned that "Worry is an insult to God". Hmmm, I thought it very true. Of course it only works for believers. My dad used to tell my mom, "Let the elephant worry, he's got a bigger head."
OK off to wound clinic with mom then to school to pick my son up from his week at camp. Yeah!!!!

Yeah, the ending was very cute (with the flip) - but what was that last view? It just dawned on me I could have paused it and studied it a little longer. I just couldn't make it out???

Ellen, that's the plan! I am reading The Methuselah Man, which was sent to me

Megan. Ground meat, cooked and crumbled seasoned with salt,
pepper, garlic, italian seasonings and parsley. A large can of diced tomatoes
flavored in a similar fashion added and cooked to blend flavors.

placed on a burger bun ( with or without cheese) and eaten in an unavoidably sloppy
fashion. Sloppy Joe! I don't like them very well.. at least not on a bun.

May 25, 2012, 4:51 pm

We had sloppy joes at my house often when I was a child. I'm sure it was because it was a nice budget-friendly meal. Back in the 1960s, stores used to sell a seasoning packet with which you could make them. I have no idea if that is still made. I think the canned product Manwich is a version of sloppy joes. It came along after I'd been eating sloppy joes for years. (We still had the old version at my house instead of Manwich which Mom considered to be a waste of money.)

279mckait
May 25, 2012, 5:02 pm

Basically the same.. I don't use a packet or the Manwich sauce ( which has sugar in it ) I just toss in some seasonings from the drawer. Nice thing is, leftover can be used to make beefaroni if the spirit moves you..
I prefer that to the sloppy joe... Dan, for some reason LOVES them..

You don't really have to "follow" the recipe i posted...start with a pound of ground meat...and use whatever is on hand...i like the ingredients listed, is all....

The only time i really follow a recipe, is the first time i try it...just to see how it "works"..after that, all bets are off and it becomes Mine

I think we cook alike, kath...have a stockpile of 'TRIED AND TRUE" recipes that can be tweaked in one or two ways, depending on mood, and what's on hand...that never really fail....that feed the body and taste good and nourish the spirit, too

Hi Kath!
Hmmm... caught up on all the good Sloppy Joe talk - not that I have anything to add as we have not had those in years! Forgot all about them :} I'm not really a "sloppy" eater - use a fork and knife.
I did the same with fried chicken in Florida and the waiter suggested I eat it like everyone else - just pick it up and chow down. eeeeooooo I continued on with my fork and knife. Hate sticky, greasy fingers.

Hope you have a great day - I expect to be exhausted by the end of it.

I have asked Dan to turn off the the pilot light for the fireplace. He has the instructions
shoved somewhere in the table next to his chair. He freaks out if I try to hunt for them in "his things".
( Papers, catalogs, old mail and baby proofers for the cabinets that I asked him to install when Angus came home are amidst the clutter) He will not look for them, and has turned on the fireplace 2x in an effort to get the job ( that I asked him to do a month ago ) done.

I am frustrated, and hot ( cleaning ) and annoyed. So I am venting. Grrrrr
