SciFi novella Contracted marriage/revenge

I'm trying to find a SciFi novella I once read. I was thinking it was by Anne Mccaffrey but I can't seem it find it, so maybe not hers, but a similar flavor. Its about a young girl who is born into a world where family and business are everything. Shes contracted into a marriage and trained continually about her future husband. Unbeknownst to her hes been working furiously to make enough money to buy out the contract. When he essentially jilts her, she tries to meet with him and he is very cruel. She lives basically cast from her family but functions as their assassin. When she is ready to quit, they give her one more job, her former betrothed. She lured him with all the things she knows about him, like by baking his favorite pie at a bakery he'll be passing. Eventually he falls in love with her and she finally reveals herself along with her purpose, finally explaining that when she was younger she was only trying to ask him to marry her and then divorce her so she could marry someone else. Because of the way he threw her side she was unable to contract another marriage. She leaves him, but eventually they do get back together. During the time though that he is searching for her, he accesses all the old files she had on him, and they included her notes about her thoughts, and in that way, he learns about her.

Any help finding this would be greatly appreciated.

Silent Blade! Thats it exactly. I've been in the mood for this sort of, for lack of a better term, old school politically incorrect froth. And I've been furiously searching through my shelves and boxes of paperbacks. While I seem to have done a fair job of remembering the plot, it simply never occured to me to look in my ebooks. It just doesn't have that sort of feel to it if you see what I mean.

The Anne McCaffrey link was probably The Coelura - that had the arranged marriages for dynastic purposes but there's no way to buy out, no assassins ...
