I read this book back in like 1999 or so, about this room in the back of a bar where a group of guys meet every week to drink and talk about their ex-girlfriends. Well come to find out, later in the book, its only one man and he carries in props and different outfits and plays the role of all the men, and he has actually killed all of these women! It was a GREAT book (sorry about the spoiler) but its been driving me crazy for years that I can't remember the title OR THE AUTHOR! :-( I'm fairly sure it was a hardback book, with a big handprint on the cover... for some reason the name Ian is sticking out at me, but that could be first or last name, maybe the author, maybe a character in the book, maybe nothing, Haha! Please let me know if anyone has ever heard of this book, or knows of a better way to find it!

The Men's Club By Leonard Michaels? I had this as a paperback with a black cover with red handprint on cover.

I'm 100% positive that it was set in the back of a bar, because there is a detective looking for the killer and he goes to the bar to question the bartender. That's when you find out that its only him playing the part of all of the men in his lonely-hearts group, the bartender tells the detective that he rents the store-room once a week or so and goes in with a box of props and shirts and hats etc. He says that yeah the Guy is weird but he keeps the noise down and leaves a good tip for his drinks. I can't really remember if they play cards while they talk, maybe they did and that's part of the name of their group??
I remember ALOT about the book, but no direct quotes that could help in a search engine...

The Broken Hearts Club by Ethan Black? (Or possibly by Bob Reiss...the LT record seems to have the name Bob Reiss attached but a cover image with Ethan Black written on it....)
