The last post of your previous thread was extremely touching:

I am going to keep this thread but it is going to be for posting my new acquisitions so my other thread doesn't confuse me! (Easily done!)

#2 Thanks Paul, I had to stop watching the news for a while. It was simply breaking my heart, and I caught my husband wiping away tears when we watched that woman digging through the wreckage of her home for pictures of her parents and family. It certainly puts things into perspective for me, I can tell you that! The world today is a place I don't even recognize and I really feel adrift right now, not grounded in any way to the things that once seemed so familiar and certain to me. I can feel myself clinging to my books as I have done since I was a small child and they were the best and only friends I knew I could always count on. I thank God that I was born a book lover and don't believe for a minute that we will ever go totally digital. Not as long as I am alive, anyway!

The Pattern In the Carpet by Margaret Drabble-very excited about this book. I snagged it on PaperBackSwap and it is a lovely hardcover book with gorgeous endpapers, a lovely dust jacket and in immaculate condition. Seems to be a memoir with a twist! Can't wait to read it so I may bump it up!
