I am trying to remember a book series I read in the late 80's or early 90's that was about this family that survived a nuclear war (or something) in their bomb shelter and when they came up from underground everything was gone. They had to learn how to survive on their own and use their supplies (matches, etc) wisely as they traveled across the US. There were several books in this series. Please help.
