Details are sketchy in my mind, but from what I remember, this was a fantasy/myth short story about a sort of demigod who was good at making things, and set up a forge under a mountain where he lived. A girl either gets lost in the mountain or is tricked by the smith's mother and is led to the forge where she sings to the smith. He likes her singing and falls in love with her. Can't remember how it ends, whether she chooses to stay with him or he lets her go.

Thanks!

This sounds like the story of the blacksmith Horreon, son of the goddess Meridite, told by Eddis to Eugenides and the Magus in Megan Whalen Turner's The Queen of Attolia.
