I loved Ivan's adventure. A hoot from beginning to end. I like him sooooo much more than I like Miles.

I adored Captain Vorpatril's Alliance. The more I read (well, reread at this point) in the Vorkosigan saga, the more I find myself identifying with Ivan as far as temperament and goals goes. So it was delightful to get a book all about him, where we can see him for who he is instead of seeing him through Miles' built-in "Ivan You Idiot" filter. Prior to this book we saw Ivan take a lead in A Civil Campaign, but for the most part he managed to stay in the background in the other books. Being underestimated.
I've recently been doing a reread of the books, and it's fascinating to watch Ivan throughout the series, knowing that he's smarter and more capable than he lets on (or than other people view him as being). Because reading through with that knowledge--and the knowledge that we're seeing Ivan almost entirely from over Miles' shoulder (and all the prejudices that come with that)--it's fairly obvious that Ivan has been quietly capable and plenty smart essentially from the get-go. Miles' just tends to miss this because Ivan isn't hyperactively brilliant and prone to madcap adventures.

#2 - fortunetly the ebook rights are available though (unlike some authors). Baen has most of her work, and I think BooksOnBoard will do so too. Baen get her e-ARCs so I've read CVA some time ago.
I think you can also order physical books through Baen.

I love the two Cordelia books, especially the last line in Shards of Honor. But my favorite Miles story is The Mountains of Mourning.

The Mountains of Mourning is really good (as are the Cordelia books!) Another positive reaction here to Captain Vorpatril's Alliance. Good and satisfying.
