It is a YA fiction book and it had vampires in it.
The plot is about this girl who had a dark mood to her and she lived with her aunt. She had never meet her mother and she often just wore black, even her whole room was done in black. Her aunt was worried about her but she kept pushing her away, one day a mystery guy came to her school and it turned out he was a vampire and on further inspection she found out her mother had been a vampire as well. She had conceived her before she had been turned but changed back to be human to have her which had a strange change on who she is as a person. She is very curious about vampires and seeks them out but isn't well meet by all of them.
The book is a young adult book.
It was 12 years ago and it was a paper back when I was reading it.

That sounds similar to the books by Amelia Atwater-Rhodes, but I don't recall a plot that quite matches what you describe.

I think she is the author but I remember the story so well so I am unsure...
