1. Courting Cate by Leslie Gould - Cate Miller is your average Amish girl and due to teasing during her younger years and being hurt by a boy as well as loosing her mother at a very young age and having to raise her baby sister she has put herself off to the side and decide that she will be a maidel. Surprisingly Cate is very very well read for an Amish girl and her father Bob Miller who is still single and does very well with his business is determined to get both of his girls married. Cates Younger sister Betsy is a sweet and loving girl, not quite as bristly as her her sister Cate and is already very much in love with Levi. However Bob, decides that Cate has to court and be married before Betsy can marry. Well, that puts Betsy into quite the tailspin and with all the twists and turns in this book it is quite endearing, heartfelt and full of love in the air and also not so much love or so we think. I truly enjoyed this book and could not put it down. If you are into reading about the Amish lifestyle and how they live this is a great read.
Now off to start my day. If I can keep up this pace of reading I should be able to reach my goal this year and maybe surpass it but alas as past years have shown me Real Life ends up getting in the way of my goals.. But I will keep trying and hopefully I will succeed this year. :)
Not sure what I am picking up to read next just yet but will decide before days end.

Hi Sandy, Yeah 2 of them were pretty short. The other one wasn't real long but average sized and I had an entire day pretty much to read.. If I can keep up this pace without real life getting in the way I may hit 75 this year. We shall see.
22MonicaLynn
4. Just finished The Vampire Christopher and now reading Blood Soaked Promises the 4 in this grouping that I got as a free promo, although I did buy the 5th book and now I am seeing that there is a 6th and 7th . Again, I will review just as soon as I get done reading them as they are all short and join right together back to back.

#23 - John, Yes I would not be this far however these books are pretty short and I am flying through them on my Kindle Fire. I don't always read that fast especially with larger books.. :) But it sure brings up my book count when I find these short ones :) Angel and I are doing well. ((Hugs)) to you and Leo from Angel and I.
#24 - Stasia, I loved it and I enjoy alot of Amish books if you enjoy that type you will love it as well.. Glad I hit you with a BB finally ;) I rarely do, you used to hit me all the time. ((Hugs)) to you Stasia.

5. Blood Soaked Promises byRashelle Workman - A Vampire version of Snow White in a sense. Snow does is a clumsy awkward girl who is actually very pretty. In school she tries to do track but is usually tripping over her own self. Her father and Step mother do a lot of traveling and are seemingly wealthy, however they are making Snow work to get a cell phone and a lap top. By continuing to take track in school. For the most part Snow lives at home pretty much at 15 with her neighbor Professor Pops and his passel of adopted boys who are more like brothers to Snow whom is an only child watching out for her. What Snow does not know that Professor Pops does know is that Snow was marked when she was young by a Vampire Hunter. At Age 16 Snow will be pulled in to take over for the Vampire Queen in the other realm Sharra. As Snow gets closer to her 16th Birthday she is pulled into Sharra by her Vampire Hunter Christopher and is bitten to turn her into a Revenant in Training (aka Vampire in training). Snow does not realize this at first but Professor Pops does who opens up a entirely new world for Snow.
Professor pops and his boys (7 dwarves) begin to train Snow to win her place as Vampire Queen while helping her with her blood lust that she has newly acquired because of the bite from Vampire Christopher Charming aka Chace Channing at her school in the regular world. Snows goal is supposed to be to kill her one true love to be able to become Vampire Queen, however this scares her as she feels like she is falling for Gabriel (one of the adopted boys next door , aka 7 dwarves) But during this she also has many mixed emotions about Chace aka Christopher her hunter due to their exchanges. The boys start training Snow and she becomes less and less clumsy, Professor Pops starts teaching Snow about all the things that ARE Real in this world that she never thought there was and helps her with her blood lust with tea so that she can continue in school while training.
Each of these novella (novelletes)are quick and interesting reads which in turn makes you want to pick up the next one to continue the story as they leave you hanging as to what is happening next due to their shortness. Hence the reason I can read this many books so quickly. So therefore I spent the .99cents each to pick up the next 4 books in the series, alas my darn reading habit makes me spend money. Luckily they weren't more expensive. ;) So I am now reading Prey and Magic.
I am still reading Gone Girl as well.

8. Seal of Gabriel by RaShelle Workman -The story continues with a Snow in a deep coma as it would appear to the real world. However, her mind is in the other realm with Silindra, Sharra Vampire Queens sister. These two Vampire girls were born vampires and when born did not look human whatsoever. Here goal is to gather a piece of all the true magic's such as the strength of a troll, the horn of a unicorn for their magic and so on. Snow in the real world is still in a coma almost a year later but yet also traveling along safely with Silindra in her quest.

I was in suspense at the end of this book and wanting to read more of this series and I was panicked momentarily until I located the next book in this series which was just published 01-19-2013. So therefore I am off to read this one Love Bleeds I sure hope it doesn't keep me hanging until the next one comes out.

Are the snow books e-books?

Hi Adrienne, Yes the Snow books are e-books. How I got started on them is Amazon was offering the 1st set of 4 for free for a short time. Then off course your hooked and must buy the rest . ;)

LOL, yeah I've fallen into that lovely little trap many a time. Oh well, good thing e-books don't cost very much.

10. Love Bleeds By RaShelle Workman - Basically in this novella, Snow is now awake and trying to figure out what she needs to do with her life. She is now 18 and has been asleep in the real world and in Silindra's mind in the other Realm for the last couple of years. Professor Pops and the boys are still there with her but so much has changed in 2 years. Her dad is gone from her home, Gabe has moved on with her best friend Cindy, Christopher has also awoken from his slumber. She wants to help all magical creatures and save magic and continue her life by graduating and going to college.
Since the next book is not out just yet Sigh.. I am now going to read an ER book that I received The Bourbon Street Ripper by Leo King. Hoping I can get some good reading done as it appears real life might be getting in the way very soon. I am getting a trainee at work which takes away from reading time and my mom is going in for surgery tomorrow therefore for a few weeks I will be helping her and my father out quite a bit. We shall see where I can sneak time in hopefully I can keep up my pace.

Hi Monica, how are you doing my dear, my cold has gone and little Hannah is back to her chirpy self again. We are due to get more snow tomorrow and it's Karen's weekend in at work so it looks like i will get some serious reading done over the next few days. Love to you and Angel from me and Leo.
37MonicaLynn
# 36, John I am doing well, glad to hear Hannah is back to her chirpy self and that you are feeling better too. I have the weekend off, however my mom just had a surgical procedure on her foot recently so I will be doing a lot of helping her this coming weekend. I don't know how much reading I will be getting in. I hope at least a little. :) Good luck with your reading we had a dumping of snow in just a couple of hours this morning and of course it was during my travel time to work this morning. Ick.. Love to you and Leo from Angel and I.

Yay my neighbor who is a carpenter, construction guy and basically jack of all trades, just finished my new bookshelf. Check it out
39rosalita
Oh, look at all those lovely empty shelves waiting to be filled! I would love to have a built-in bookcase like that.
40MonicaLynn
I have been waiting for this bookshelf for just under a year, my neighbor is a wonderful guy and very busy too as well as a perfectionist. I just love it. I have another bookshelf just overstuffed so much that I cannot see what is behind what. I intended to split up my books so I can actually find what I am looking for, but alas as a book lover I am sure that eventually both book shelves will be overstuffed and I will have to have another one built and find another spot in my home to put more books.. LOL ;)

11. The Bourbon Street Ripper by Leo King - "Gripping Edge of your Seat Thriller!" I received this ebook Via Early Reviewer Program. It took me a little while to get to and get through only because real life got in the way. However, I am sincerely glad I received this book and would recommend it to anyone who enjoys a good thriller with some gore in there.
Samantha Castille aka Sam of Spades writer for her local newspaper is the granddaughter of the Original Bourbon Street Ripper and is basically a recluse. Everyone seems to dislike Sam due to what her grandfather did and now there is a copy cat Ripper on the loose and she is very closely being watch as a suspect.
Uncle Rodger Bergeron who abandoned her after her fathers death and who was an original detective on the first Bourbon Street Ripper murders tries to help clear Sam's name and get to the bottom of the Copy Cat murder's.
With Voodoo and gripping detailed bloody murder set in Louisiana along with a good back story and learning some of the original murder's this story held my interest all the way through and now I cannot wait for the next book in this series. As you are left with quite a cliffhanger at the end.
I have never before read anything by Leo King but he does now have a new fan!!

Hi John, Doing well here, yes I am a few books ahead of you only because I had some short books in there and had some time on my hands. Now real life is getting in the way for the moment. Usually I can read during down time at work, however now I have a trainee attached to my hip and cannot read during downtime Sigh... Alas it will get better though. :) I am so glad to hear the cold is gone and hope the rest of your family is doing well also. (Hugs) to you and Leo :)

16. Once in Every Life by Kristin Hannah - Such an easy interesting ready this one is!! This was based on actual events that took place on San Juan Island in 1873. Taken from Memoirs of the Author's Husband's Great Aunt Delilah "Lila" Hannah. Names were changed and she played slightly with the timing of events. However I think it turned out beautifully written!!
It starts out in 1873 where Jackson Beaureguard Rafferty is contemplating killing himself because he is in loveless marriage with 2 beautiful girls and a baby on the way. His wife Amarylis genuinely despises him which you will find out why later in the story.
Then we move on to 1993 where Tess Gregory is a deaf microbiologist trying to find the cure for cancer. Tess has been through a lot in her life especially living most of it deaf and she is lonely and works very hard at her job wanting to help where she can. When suddenly things in Tess's life change drastically by getting struck by and oncoming bus. At the same time Amarylis Rafferty is giving birth and dies.
Tess is given the option by Carol her Angel to start her life over and given pictures of a few men to help. Suddenly Tess awakes as Amarylis Rafferty after just giving birth to a baby boy. Finding herself with this loveless family not knowing what to expect. Tess realizes she has been given a second chance and must find a way to make this broken family into a real loving family and that is what she sets out to do. Not knowing what this family has been through and them not knowing that Tess has taken over Amarylis's body she has to find a way to make things work and get her 2nd chance at life.
Starting out is difficult as Tess was not used to cooking, cleaning, a life without the necessities of computers, phones, electric, in door plumbing she has to learn that along with making this family whole again.
Such an exciting journey this story takes you on and all the trials and tribulations of each character are well written.
Officially a Kristin Hannah fan!!!

18. The Things We Do for Love by Kristin Hannah - Angela DeSaria Malone and her husband Conlan Malone decide it is time to break off their marriage. Upon the finalization of the divorce Angela moves back home to her families Summer cottage. Where the rest of her family lives in the same town. Angela feels so alone and is trying to get her life back together after losing her father, her baby and her husband all in one year. Angela's life long dream to be a mother has been crushed after trying so many years and having so many disappointments. Angela works at getting the family restaurant into shape where it is making money all the while her loving, well meaning but over bearing mother fighting most of Angela's decisions for change.
In the mean time 17 year old Lauren living on the wrong side of town is succeeding at keeping her grades in Fircrest academy at a 3.92 grade average and working so hard to get into college despite her deplorable living conditions with her alcoholic mother who loves Lauren yet despises her. Lauren works part time and attempts to keep their apartment by paying the rent and making up excuses for her mother. Then Lauren suddenly loses her job and now has to find another one to make ends meet. Lauren is dating David Haynes a very wealthy handsome teenager and they have dated for 4 years. When suddenly their is trouble in paradise.
Angela and Lauren meet by accident and become involved in each other's lives for a life changing experience for both of them as well as the entire DeSaria family.
This is a very convincing story that could actually happen, very touching and bittersweet as well.
Still working on reading the Lupine Howl Series and staring on Angel Falls another Kristin Hannah book. For some reason I just cannot stay away from her books.. I am going to have to go in search and see what else she has out there my pocket book can afford. ;)

Hi John, Yes my reading is coming along very well this year. I am hoping only I can stay at this pace or close to it anyway all throughout the year. Which typically once Spring is here I am outside more often and reading less. We shall see.
Oh my Little Hannah is going to be two.. My goodness.. Well, you give that little dear a big hug from me. The teddy bear cake sounds precious. :)
Everything is going well right now. I hope all is well with you and yours it sure sounds like it.. Angel and I send our love to you as well.. Angel sends big slurpy kisses for Leo I think she misses giving her kitty kissess since he has been gone.

19. Angel Falls - Kristin Hannah - Another great one by Kristin Hannah.
Mikeala Campbell, loving mother of 2 beautiful children Jacey & Bret, caring wife of Liam. Falls prey to a coma after a horse riding accident and then amnesia. Remembering her first marriage and her first love and her daughter but not her son or her current husband. Which is heartwrenching for all of her family.
This is quite a romantic, with some christian overtones in there, family values all in there. Loved this book

Hi John, Yes my reading is going well this year I just keep praying that I can keep it going through the year. Typically it starts off well and falters due to some real life thing happening. But I keep trying :). Angel and I are doing well. I sure hope you and Leo are doing well also. Angel and I send hugs. :)

23. Defense of the Realm (Lupine Howl VIII) by Amy Cross
Okay here is a brief review of the Lupine Howl Series
This first series of 8 books was interesting to say the least about it. It is set in London werewolves were rounded up and made to stay in one area. However there are a few that still roam the countryside. Duncan meets Jess in the very beginning and saves her life because she is out and about on her own in this world as a human. Duncan and Jess go through trials and tribulations of quite the variety in this first series. They try to stay apart however there is this pull that keeps pulling them together. Duncan eventually saves Jess by turning her as well.
The military decides that Werewolves must be destroyed so they end up fighting the battle to keep their species alive. After Duncan survives when his Master tries to kill him and many other adventures. The Underworld where there are to many other strange creatures to count.
Must read to find out if they win the battle to keep their species alive or not. There are twists and turns in here that keep you on your toes.
This is not a typical book I would have picked up but I did enjoy it.

24. Anatomy: A Plain Jane Prequel Short Story (Harbinger Mystery Series) from the Got Thrills? A Boxed Set (A McCray Collection) - I enjoyed this short story from this set of books. A nice murder mystery where the two detectives who are are in love are working together catch the murderer who is pulling out organs of their victims while they are alive and labeling them. However at first they are on the wrong path of who the killer might be until the uninvited FBI profiler comes to town and joins in.

Hi Monica, you really are doing well on the reading front, hope everything is well with you. I am fine and so are the rest of the family. Lots of love and hugs from me and Leo to you and Angel.

#68. Hi John, yes for once my reading is going quickly. I think it helps that I have been reading a lot of shorter stories. I am hoping I can keep it going during the summer months. I am doing well and so is Angel, she just had her check up at the vet and her overall health is good, she is starting to show signs of cataracts and her arthritis is bothering her but I have her on some meds for the arthritis, which does help most days and if that doesn't help I have some pain meds to give her that day. Angel and I both send big hugs to you and Leo and I am glad to hear you are all doing well :)

25. Hacked: The prequel short story to Encrypted (Robin Hood Hacker) from the Got Thrills? A Boxed Set (A McCray Collection) by Carolyn McCray - Overall a good short story. Ronnie and Quick are quite the team at hacking they plan out the biggest heist every. The FBI agent is bound and determined to catch this hacker even on Christmas. He tries his best but they have everything planned. Must read to find out if they get caught or not.

26. Gauntlet: An All Hallow's Eve Prequel Short Story (Run While You Can… from the Got Thrills? A Boxed Set (A McCray Collection) by Carolyn McCray - Good Short story, very fast paced to get everything into a few chapters. Overly tired Police officer sees a purse snatching while picking up his coffee before work and while chasing down the perp meets his new partner a woman in heels. They get into quite a bind chasing this perp down to the sewage system. They were set up to be lured into quite the trap. Must read to find out what the trap is. Now reading Devious in the Got Thrills? A Boxed Set (A McCray Collection)

27. Devious: A 9th CIrcle prequel short story (Darc Murder Mysteries) from the Got Thrills? A Boxed Set (A McCray Collection) by Carolyn McCray - Interestingly, this one really got my attention and was a little longer than the others. Detective Darcmel a homicide detective is quite the character and placing him with a Vice cop Trey Keane might be the answer to getting him paired up as team. I found myself enjoying the story in two parts one trying to figure out the killer and wanting to know that but also wanting to know exactly who these characters were. Detective Darcmel is quite a difficult one to read but Trey brings him out more and you see a different side of him slightly by the end. Great job creating this dynamic. Now reading Moonrush from the Got Thrills? A Boxed Set (A McCray Collection)
73MonicaLynn
Well, I got a few chapters in on Moonrush and it just was not my cup of tea.. I have officially abandoned it. Now reading Caught from the Got Thrills? A Boxed Set (A McCray Collection)

Hi Monica! Looks like you are doing some great reading this year!
Sorry to see that Moonrush wasn't for you, but I find there are too many good books to waste time reading one that you don't want to read!
Hope you had a good Easter!

Hi Chelle, Yes I am doing some great reading. I used to try to force myself to get through a book because I didn't want to abandon them but I have learned that there is no point in wasting my time if I get so far and just don't care for it to drop it and move on.
My Easter weekend was mixed up by work and my Nephew couldn't be here Easter day so my family had Easter dinner while I was working and I had Easter Day off so I spent it alone with my beautiful Angel(Dog). It was quiet and peaceful.

28. Barefoot - By Elin Hilderbrand - I wish time would have permitted me to read this a little faster as it held my interest. 3 woman go off to Nantucket for the summer. 1 has cancer, 1 just recently fired due inappropriate behavior and involved in a lawsuit and 1 who just found out she was pregnant and just recently found out her husband has been cheating on her. Each individual woman with their own issues going on vacation to help each other out. Along with 2 small children. What an interesting adventure these women go through in one summer at nantucket living together. Great story and background.

30. Absent by Katie Williams - Absent is the story of Paige and a couple of other teens whom died at school. Paige seemingly died in class one by accident, however that is not how everyone else sees her death. They see it as a suicide. Paige is learning how to deal with all the rumors of her death and tries her hardest to prove that it was an accident and not a suicide. With the help of the other ghostly students Paige learns how to cope with being stuck at school for the rest of her haunting days. Quite an intriguing story of how teens can be and the harshness in their daily lives. Paige has a lot to prove and goes about it in quite the intriguing way of possessing other students. A must read to find out what really happened to Paige and how she saved the life of another boy.
This was an ER book from LT. Once again LT thanks for the opportunity.
Now off to read Screwed by Laurie Plissner this is an ARC from the company directly and I am excited to receive and review this one as well.

#84. Hi John, Thanks I have noticed you are doing well also. Angel and I are both doing well, she had to have a 2nd surgery on her ear. I felt so bad for her, she is pouting with a cone around her head right now. But she is healing well. I am so excited because there is no more snow here finally. I have been out on the boat fishing with my dad and plan to go some more now that it is getting nicer out. I have also gotten some yard work done. So I have a feeling my reading will slow a little. Hugs and much love to you and Leo from Angel and I.

31. Screwed by Laurie Plissner 17 year old Straight A Student, Virgin Grace Warren from a very religous and well to do family who are very community and church invovled including a group that her mother runs for teens about absitenance until married. Goes and makes the ulitmate mistake and gets pregnant on her first time.
Grace is terrified now but also knows what she has been taught morally all her life by her parents to tell the truth and that she must do the right thing with this baby. However, when Grace makes the "right" decision her parents kick her out thinking that she will change her mind in a matter of a few hours. Along comes elderly neighbor Helen, whom has lived next door in a "Fancy" house and takes Grace in.
Grace and Helen form quite the bond as well as Helen's great nephew Charlie she is caring for this school year as well. Grace and Charlie become fast friends and both secretly have hopes for more. However Grace is going through quite the trying time and needs to figure herself out first before she starts a new relationship. As for the father of the baby he is pushing to be out of Graces life and wants nothing to do with the baby.
This was an uplifting story of a young teenage girl who feels her life is completly and utterly "Screwed" because she gave away her virinity to a boy who really didn't care about her and became pregant but finds kindness, love and compassion in the places she least expected them to come from.
Haven't decided what I am picking up just yet as tonight I am on OT and work and will search my library tomorrow morning for the next book.

Based off Dante's 9th circle, the Killer - kills according to the way he interperates each circle. Detective Robi Darcmel(Darc) who has Aspergers is very high functioning, highly intelligant by with some other deficiancys when it comes to emotions and Detective Trey Keane the more normal detective however just barely passed the detectives test by 1 point, however he is the only one who can actually control Darc. Work this unusually gory case. Darc who saves one of the first of thevictims lives by performing CPR on her little body. They become bonded and have a very special relationship that is quite unusualy for Darc. This little Victim is so strong especially for her age and wants to help her special Talk Darc detective solve this case. They find intriguing ways to help each other. To include drawing, escaping her Dr and even convincing her Dr to let her go with Her Detective to help.

Hi John, It's okay that you can't send me any, even though I am sure it was very delicious bread. :) I love it but it doesn't help my diabetes very much when I eat to much and I am sure a piping hot fresh loaf of homemade bread would be to tempting to eat all at once.. Glad Leo was able to get out and enjoy some nice sun. We had snow again here on Saturday. I was not a happy person about it either. I am so tired of the cold. This winter stuff is just hanging on. We had a day where we had 82 degree weather then 2 days later in the 30's and snowing. Luckily non stuck but Yucky.. I just want it to warm up here. Angel and I send you hugs. I see you are creeping your way up to my number. Keep up the good work. :)

#103 Hi Linda, thank you for your admiration. It can be a very stressful job. We are not a huge center like in some big city like New York or LA. But we do have our share of stress and alot less staffing to handle the shifts. As a matter of fact all of us are working a lot of OT until we get more help in here as we just has someone leave for another position and we had someone terminated. So that adds to it. You send me smiles no matter what you say Linda a note from you alwasy brightens my day. Thank you Dear.. (((HUGS)))

None of them are in relationships. However the first time Gabe meets Ana he is quite surprised at the feelings it stirs inside him. Hi Monica, thanks for your lovely message of support my dear. The latest on my Fil is that he is making a slow recovery, he is confused at times as to where he is, sometimes he thinks he is at home and at others he knows he is in hospital. His wicked sense of humour is still there which is a good sign but yesterday he was very cantankerous and Karen had to treat him as if he were a five-year-old. I'm not sure wether he is in denial as to what is possibly going to happen or wether he is resigned to it. Now that they have moved him to another hospital it is a 20 mile round trip which i am doing twice a day and karen comes with me when she is not at work on an afternoon. The nurses are brilliant with him but to say he was moved because it is a better hospital for rehab, he doesn't seem to be getting much physio so we are going to have a word with them.
The weather has picked up over the last couple of days and so that is cheering us up although Karen is sleeping badly and i am doing my best to make sure she gets enough rest and trying to take some of the worry off her shoulders.
I hope you and Angel are well and your reading is racing ahead my dear. I am sending hugs and kisses to both of you and Karen sends her best wishes.

42. Home Front by Kristin Hannah - Jolene Zarkades, Wonderful wife, mom and soldier. What an emotional roller coaster this book takes you on. From home life to the battlefield, to coming home after a tour of duty in Iraq and dealing with demons. Jolenes family has to deal with all of this too. Because not only does it effect the soldier but the family of the soldier. What a well written heart felt, heart warming, great story that makes me want to share it with all of my friends and family. This book made me feel like I was there.

#113 - Stasia I have truly enjoyed each and everyone of Kristin Hannah's books that I have read and at this point I own all but 3 of her books in one format or another. I am sharing them with co workers who are loving her as well. The ones I do not have are
A Handful of Heaven
The Enchantment
and the newest one out Fly Away
Unless there are more that I am not aware of that she has written. I am having difficulties getting my hands on the first two I have listed. They want an arm and a leg to get them. The newest one out I waiting for it to come down in price a little. :) I hope you can find them soon to read them. I enjoy each and everyone and hope you do too.

47. Forever: The World of Nightwalkers (World of the Nightwalkers) by JacQuelyn Frank - This book was even better than the first one. There was more of a romance than Egyptian setting. I suppose that this was because it was pretty much explained in the first book. I love the fact that it picked up right where the first on left off.
Jackson blended now with Menes the Egyptian Pariah is working to bring Haptsheuh back from the eather. Jackson has always had a thing for Marissa Anderson who is the psychologist at the police department, Menes also finds attraction to Marissa, he finds that the chase in getting Marissa to die so that he may bring his true love Haptsheuh back into Marissa so that they my blend and all be a happy foursome together for the rest of their time in this world. Menes being a part of the Politics has a struggle with the Templar clan who do the same with the bring back of their souls into this world. However so many mortals get involved that it is getting harder to keep their secret. I cannot wait to read the next installment of this series to see what happens next and how the blending process goes. Very interesting take on souls coming back into this world.

48. A Soft Place to Land by Susan Rebecca White Interesting story of a bond between sisters, their differences, yet similarities as well as their difficulties of growing up and losing their parents at a young age and being separated from each other.
Julia the older of the two has her quirks about her and defiance's where as Ruthie is quite the good girl in this story. It is difficult for me to describe this one without giving to much away. So therefore I shall say it was overall a good read however I didn't care for the ending to much I actually wanted more. I feel like I am missing out by the story not continuing.

49. The Good Sister by Drusilla Campbell- This was a story of Postpartum Depression and/or psychosis. Quite interesting story of how families affect each other throughout their lives. How codependent they can become with each other. Roxanne is an only child at first and then her mother decides to push her off on her Grandmother. One day Roxanne’s mother (Ellen) just shows up to get her and take her home. Little does Roxanne know it is to take care of her new baby sister because her mom is afraid she may hurt her. In essence Roxanne becomes the 9 year old responsible on in their relationship taking care of her little sister while her mom gets herself together. They grow up and each of the girls Roxanne and baby sister Simone each marry. Simone still very much needing her big sister Roxanne. Simone marries Johnny Duran who wants to take care of Simone and have who very much wants a boy child which they are not very successful at producing. At 4 girls Simone decides some of them are too much like herself and ends up doing something drastic and puts the entire family into quite a tail spin and finds herself on trial. Overall a good story.

50. Complete Me: A Novel by J. Kenner - I didn't realize this was the 3rd book in the trilogy until I received it. However besides a few things I wasn't aware of in the story prior I figured it all out. I really enjoyed the passion that Nikki and Damien shared for each other. Some very erotic moments but not to overly done. Puts me in mind of the 50 shades of grey books. Although very enjoyable read. Now I will have to look into getting the others to read the entire trilogy.

51. Fly Away by Kristin Hannah - TullyandKate together again in one way. Tullah Hart is having such a hard time dealing with her friend Kate's death in this follow up to Firefly Lane. She takes to many pills and has gained weight and cannot seem to get on the right track. Then there is her mother Dorothy "Cloud" Hart who has never really been there for Tully, but in a sense Tully has never given up hope of her mother being there and them having a relationship. It takes a tragedy to bring everyone together again. A must read..

Kenner - Nikki meets Damien Stark (Billionaire), for the 2nd time in her life, she doesn't believe he remembers her from a few years back in a pageant she was in and he was a judge for, however he does. Little does Nikki know he has been following her ever since not literally but keeping track. He is finally ready to take her for his own. So their tango of a romance begins. Very erotic scenes with a good back story.

Sparks are flying a little there but Connors faith is waivering and Samantha is concerned about that she wants a wonderful Christian guy with good faith. She also wants to catch this horrible killer. Jenna Connor's daughter is missing her dad, mad at her dad and overal being a teen and just may get her self into trouble with this Killer if she doesn't pay attention. A must read great murder mystery, a little romance, great christian values and faith.

54. Don't Look Back by Lynette Eason - Samantha, Connor, Dakota & Jamie are at it again trying to solve murders of a serial killer and catch this horrific person. This time around it is very very personal to Jamie, he was her captor 12 years ago and they are trying to track him down as they have discovered that she was not his only victim and Jamie was a very lucky girl to escape so many years ago. This one drug me in from the get go and was pulling me in throughout the entire story. The Characters are so intriguing and with a little bit of faith throughout and a lot of hard work and fear they work through this one as well. A must read in my eyes if you love a good mystery.
I know I said I was reading The Secret History of Elizabeth Tudor Vampire Slayer however, I lent the first book in the Women of Justice Series and she is itching to get her hands on the 2nd one and the third just as much as I was. So I set my other book aside and got very engrossed in this one and now I am off to read the third one of the Series so I can pass them around and share with my co workers and friends. Yes they do Richard. I keep hoping that there is another one out. Kinda like Kristin Hannah for me or James Patterson. I go through spurts until I run out then I am in disappointment mode for a bit until I find another series or Author that takes a hold on me.. LOL

55. A Killer Among Us - Lynette Eason - Another great addition to this series. Once again involving a serial killer and he is focusing on one of their own family members only not to kill her but to marry her and have a ready made family. The Judge doesn't like the way people disrespect him and some will be killed just for being impatient or short with him. They all have their hands full with this one and all the twists and turns you just don't know who the Judge is until the end. Gripping and suspenseful with love and romance to a slight degree and a whole lot of faith.
Now sadly I do not have another Lynette Eason to read at the moment so I am going to read my ER copy that came recently If Only by Becky Citra

56. If Only by Becky Citra Danny and Pam are twins who live with their father. The recently moved to a new town from their grandparents farm after their grandmother passing and their grandfather having to go into a home. Their father is off of work due to an injury and is not so with it all the time. Danny and Pam try to care for each other. One day while taking a short cut through the woods where they always walk. Danny and Pam are attacked, especially Pam, who is somewhat injured. Danny didn't feel he could do anything therefore, he feels guilty for not protecting his sister. Carol a neighbor came by with her dog Prince and scared off the attacker so luckily Pam is not raped just bruised and traumatized as is Danny for not protecting his sister.
The story continues with their accounts of what happened, their trials of dealing with what happened. People talking about them. The meanness of teenagers and bullies at school and also figuring out who is actually responsible and not feeling like one of them should have done something more to protect each other. Their Dad comes around and works on getting a little better dealing with things too.
A good moral story.

Hi John, You just may catch up if things don't slow down for me. This past weekend was our annual camp out at my house for Labor Day weekend. I have been on Vacation since Wednesday the 28th. However was getting ready for camp out for the weekend. I had people here through Monday. I have this week off also and do not have to go back to work until the 9th. I had plans to relax after the weekend was over and get some reading done. However my Sister and Brother in Law came up from VA. On Sunday the boys were all riding 4 wheelers hill climbing and so on. Well, my darling Brother in law was in an accident and fractured a vertebrae in his back. He was hospitalized until yesterday when they came back to my house, they are staying with us for him to recoup a few days as the live a 9 hour drive away before making the trip back so very slow on the reading front right now. Other than that Angel and I are doing well. Angel was having to much fun this weekend and her arthritis made her very sore for a couple of days but she is doing better now. Hope you are all doing well there, hugs to you and Karen and of course smooches from Angel to all of you and Leo too. :)

57. Sassy Belles by Beth Albright - Blake's friend Vivi finds herself in quite the pickle when she has a secret interlude and affair going on with Blake's brother in law Lewis. He appears to die in the middle of their fun.
Blake & Harry (Lewis's estranged brother) are attorney's in practice together as well as married. Blake is rethinking their marriage as Harry is running for office and this sassy belle does not want to be second fiddle to his political realm. She wants to be her own woman and has found their marriage to become more one sided and she is expected to play the perfect wife.
Now Blake and Harry have to find out of Lewis (the estranged brother)is alive or dead and see if they can help Vivi out of murder charges. All with the help of Sonny (cop and ex beau of Blake, whom Blake has feelings for still. Are the feelings really there or are they circumstantial.
All the while dealing with Blake's Mother Kitty and her grandmother Meridee who has some secrets of her own.
This book was based in Tuscaloosa Alabama and had that old southern charm to it hence the sassy bells and we find out the differences between hissy fits and conniption fits. A great story over all I felt like I would know it if I ever visited Tuscaloosa, with some very funny moments and it keeps you reading till the very last page to find out what exactly happens. Is Lewis Alive or Dead?? Must read to find out and all the other twists and turns in between.
I received this as an advanced readers copy through Harlequin and enjoyed it very much. Thank you Harlequin for the fun read and Beth Albright for making it so fun and enjoyable.

The Orphan Sister by Gwendolen Gross- This is a story of Clementine and how she is trying to muddle through life being one of a set of triplets the catch is that she is a fraternal and the 2 others Olivia and Odette were born at the same time as she they are identical twins. A descent story of fitting in but not quite. Alot of back and forth then and now which was somewhat confusing at times but overall a descent book.

59. Happy Happy Happy by Phil Robertson - What a wonderful summary of his life. I call it a summary because I believe there is so much more to his life. Phil Robertson, is very up front and honest in this Biography/Autobiography. He tells about his trials and tribulations when he was young and admits to some terrible things he has done in his past.
He tells about his coming around to God and changing his life for himself and his family. While reading this not knowing personally but watching the television show Duck Dynasty I could hear him saying every word of this, which made it much more personal for me.
Phil Robertson is a very good man who made himself that way with the help of his wife Kay. Great read, enjoyed every word.

62. Black Fridays by Michael Sears -Jason Stafford went to Prison for his crimes and paid his dues. Now he is out and wanting to get his life back on track. He wants to reconnect with his ex wife and son. Which was the plan from the get go. Jason had her all set up with money to care for herself and her son and enough for them to get started when he was in the clear. However things do not always go as planned.
Jason tries to contact his ex wife and she wants nothing to do with him anymore. She has remarried and pawned their autistic son off on her elderly mother. Who has come to know little Jason's (Kid) routine however he doesn't get out much and is kept in a dark room. Jason goes to Louisiana to pick up his son and try to reconnect with him and has no idea how but gets some help and starts actually learning from the Kid things he never realized in his life.
He learns that someone wants him to work for them even after his stint and actions in the trading business the reason he went to prison and gets himself into more than he bargained for. Murder's, kidnappings and excitement all rolled into one.
For me it started out a little slow in the first couple of chapters however as the book moves along I became more engrossed. Good read.
Now off to read Mortal Bonds the 2nd in the Jason Stafford Series by Michael Sears and ARC from LT. Still reading Jo Joe by Sally Wiener Grotta another ARC from LT.

However with all the twists and turns in his investigation he finds himself and everyone close to him in danger. Lots of twists and turns and still the growing bond all along with his loving autistic son Jason Jr. "The Kid". I will definately be searching for a 3rd installment.

64. When the Smoke Clears by Lynette Eason - Alexia Allen moved on from her life as soon as she graduated high school with a lot of feelings of loss and feeling unwanted by her family especially her mother whom was dealing with Alexia's abusive father.
Alexia's long time High School friend Serena convinced her to come back home for their 10 Year reunion. Alexia was also having some trouble with work at the fire department where they believed she was the cause of an incident and was suspended for a time and being treated poorly. So Alexia goes home.
Once home she finds out her mother is in the hospital but goes to the house firs to drop off her baggage and freshen up and to put it off a while before seeing her mother whom she has rarely spoken to in 10 years besides a few phone calls and messages and info from friends on how her mom is doing. When she arrives she hears a noise and goes to check it out only to find a man dead in her mother's basement. This starts quite the chain of events in Serena's life that will either end or change her life.
A great book with a lot of twists and turns some faith, some action, some romance and murder. What a great start to this series.

66. Jo Joe by Sally Wiener Grotta I received this as an Early Reviewer's copy and it took me a bit to get into it. This was quite the story about Racism, Love, loss, forgiveness. It also had such great detail that I could actually picture the location and wished I was watching it as a movie.
Judith Ormand, a mixed race Jewish Girl, grew up in a variety of places, after her parents separation she was with her mother, then moved with her father for a short period after her mother was killed but was basically pushed out because her father had no room for her with his new life. So she ended up growing up in Black Bear Pennsylvania, with her grandma and grandpa on their farm.
Judith (Jo) fell for Joe while growing up on the farm and Grandma had her own agenda and didn't feel it was correct or in Jo's best interest to be with Joe and convinced Joe of this without Jo knowing. Joe liked Jo and protected her until such a time he was convinced that it was better for Jo to do what Grandma said. Then Joe acted like most of the rest of the town and kids Jo was growing up with a racist.
Grandma convinced Jo (Judith) to go far away and never come back to Black Bear and Judith never did until Grandma passed away and there were things to handle.
Upon Judith's return her resentment toward Joe and of course his brother Wayne whom had done horrific things to her when she was younger held her back from wanting to stay very long and she wanted to get rid of the farm as quickly as possible. She came to find out that her Gram had done somethings with the farm and properties they owned that were very unexpected she had give care over to her enemy Joe Anderson. Judith was determined to find out what in the world her grandma was thinking and how Joe came to be so much a part of her grandma's life that he was even caring for her money in her last days of her life.
After a long awaited story from old friends and some explanation Do Jo and Joe become at least friends again or are the separated for ever. A must read to find out.

Twists and turns, action, romance all rolled into one with this book. 68. Forgiving Lies: A Novel by Molly McAdams I Love this book. My Only disappointment is it ends in a Cliffhanger and I want to read the next one NOW.
Rachel and Candace best friends for quite some time live together and go to college together. Candace the typical slutty girl in school runs around having fun all the time. Rachel the hiding out type of girl who works hard and stays out of the scene for the most part girl due to her trials and tribulations in her young life losing her parents, end up at odds with each other after Candace pushes and pushes Rachel to go out with her cousin Blake because she really wants to be "Family" with Rachel. However what Candace won't believe after it happens is that Blake was raping Rachel when Candace came home and was able to cover it up with quite a lie. When Rachel was really able to talk Candace didn't believe her and the wedge between the two girls forms. They remain friends with this wedge and avoid talking about the issue but the wedge keeps growing.
Summertime rolls around and they move to an apartment and across from the girls Kash and Mason move in. Kash and Mason are undercover cops here hiding out from the hit that has been put out on them in Florida as well as working with the Austin Police department on the "Carnation killer" case. Instantly bad girl Candace finds them attractive and way to get some sex. Rachel on the other hand is not interested really.. but really is she???
This is a boy meets girls, boy falls in love with girl. Girl and boy have issues and can they move on from them. Especially with some lies involved and a killer. Great story cannot wait to find out about the next one coming out.
No reading Doing Harm by Kelly Parsons another ER book from LT :)

Stephanie is still trying to be a "Girlfriend" to Micelli and trying to refuse Ranger's wooing her. Again, it was LOL funny and adventurous as usual. With some digging up of corpses and a wedding in this one it is definitely another great addition to the series.

The Harbinger Collection: Hard-boiled Mysteries Not for the Faint of Heart (A McCray Crime Collection) - This is a re - read as now I am reading the actual collection instead of a collection of Prequels - Anatomy: A Plain Jane Prequel Short Story (Harbinger Mystery Series) - I enjoyed this short story from this set of books. A nice murder mystery where the two detectives who are are in love are working together catch the murderer who is pulling out organs of their victims while they are alive and labeling them. However at first they are on the wrong path of who the killer might be until the uninvited FBI profiler comes to town and joins in.

Hi Monica,
You are doing awesome on your reading this year. Oh thanks for stopping by my thread today.
Everytime I check out your thread I add more books to my wishlist. I had to put a hold on reading Mortal Bonds by Michael Sears right now. I am doing a BINGO challenge on Goodreads and I need to finish up The Fault in our Stars for a 4 in a row. Mortal Bonds doesn't give me 4 in a row but I will finish it.
I enjoy the Jason Stafford Novels. They are different and since I work in special education it is nice to see a character in the series with special needs.
I hope you are ready for the holidays. Do you have any plans to travel at Christmas?
Happy Holidays! Happy Reading!!

# 174 - No plans for traveling at Christmas.. I am actually working Christmas Day. People still need help from 911 so someone has to do it. I would not have to this year because I have seniority and could have taken the day off, which I have done in previous years. This year However since my Step Daughter is 18 will be with her mom, my Ex Mother In Law (who lives with me for the moment)with be spending time with the Ex husband and my niece and nephew's are all teens or above they understand. Plus the perks of working the day of Christmas is double time and a half pay. I am being greedy this year..
176crazy4reading
I don't blame you for working. If I could earn double time and a half pay I would work Christmas. But my offices are closed so I don't have to work. I will be able to just sit and relax and read and possibly have visitors.

77. The Pieces of Summer: Part 4 by Wanda Brunstetter Everything is moving right along in Meredith's pregnancy and her life. She has Laurie and Alma around to help her out and Jonah keeps stopping by to help out. Jonah really does secretly love Meredith, however he knows is not ready for a relationship and she is anxiously awaiting the arrival of the darling Boppli and wondering if that will hurt or help her missing Luke.
Luke has awoken fully, however does not remember who his is and nothing is jogging his memory but his body is starting to heal. Anne and Susan have a wonderful idea to help Luke "Eddie" as they call him once he is released from the hospital since he has no where to go they have spoken to their grandparent's about allowing him to move in and help out until he can figure out his place in this world.
Meredith is also thinking of her feelings for Jonah but isn't quite sure. But everyone else especially Laure and Alma are seeing the spark there.
Another great book in this series.

78. A Revelation in Autumn: Part 5 by Wanda E. Brunstetter Meredith has her boppli in an Amish buggy along side of the road with Laurie doing the delivery and Jonah happens along and is able to call for help.
Meredith and baby Levi Luke are getting along okay however Meredith is worried about her finances, she is making ends meet but not much more than that and is worried about paying the taxes.
Laurie is planning her wedding to Kevin Byler whom is Mennonite and not Amish the family is still working to accept her choice.
Luke "Eddie" is still with Susan and Anne's grandparents helping out and little things are starting to seem familiar to him. He gets a ride in a Hot air balloon and while in it he feels as if it is something he has fulfilled in his dreams (which he has but doesn't know it). Grandpa's straw hat looks familiar to him and his pocket watch in the end as a cliffhanger he remembers his first name.
Meredith was also at the same place as Luke and she looked right at him not knowing he was her husband and still alive as he was up in the air in the Hot Air Balloon.
Cannot wait to start reading the next installment.

79. A Vow for Always: Part 6 by Wanda E. Brunstetter OH I loved the ending.
Jonah and Meredith are planning their wedding and even though Meredith has some reservations she is readying herself to be Jonah's wife and she knows that Jonah will be a good dad to Levi.
Luke finally realizes who he is and gets a lot of his memories back and is suddenly in a rush to get home. He is so appreciative and kind of saddened that this family who was so wonderful to help him through this hard time in his life is going to be missed by him. They of course re assure him that they will keep in touch and feel that he is a part of their family.
A must read to see if Luke makes it home before Jonah and Meredith get married and what kind of reaction everyone at home has.
I am going to miss these characters and wish there were more to find out what happens after.

Monica! Monica!! Don't give up on Louise Penny until after A Fatal Grace, the third one in the series. The second one is SO MUCH BETTER than the first, and the third is an example of her mature style. If you don't like that one, Penny's not for you.
But I'll be she will be.

81. The Harbinger Collection: Hard-boiled Mysteries Not for the Faint of Heart (A McCray Crime Collection)
Plain Jane: Kent, Ruben & Nicole all work to catch the Plain Jane Killer. However Kent & Ruben have a rivalry between them as they both still love Nicole. Nicole is not taking the bite from either of them as she has dated them both and knows how they are. However as time goes on she will find that she still really cares for one of them more so than the other.
Kent is a profiler and has predicted every woman who has been targeted in the Plain Jane Killings. He tries so hard to make sure that he is not known to the killer as he stalks the prey himself to watch and be there when the killer attacks so that he can stop it.
Ruben the detective who is also Nicole's partner cannot stand the profiler Kent for many reasons. At one point he feels that the profiler is completely off base with who the next victim will be and works very hard to be the right man this time. As Nicole sits with him on the stake out she has this feeling that Kent is right and ends up with him on his stake out.
In the end they do find the killer but there is a little twist in the description of who the killer is. Very good action packed story.
Now off to read the short story sequel to this. :)

My Soul To Keep -Nicole and Ruben work on a murder of a girl in someone else's home. Quickly they come to realize incest, murder and hatred in a family that on the outside looks completely normal. 84. Sleigh Belles by Beth Albright - Another great addition to the series. This one is more about Dallas Dubois the reporter who everyone feels is more of an enemy. Dallas finds herself and her family in this one and it turns out wonderfully. With a Christmas Play and Dallas who "Hates Children", The love of her life who doesn't know she has always loved him, and ex step sister offering to be there who wouldn't have been there before. It all comes together. In a fun filled Christmas time tale in Tuscaloosa.
