Yes, I know where the wiki page is, but I'm not sure how this would be labeled ("Anet" doesn't seem to really do it, and it's a whole bunch of sources in one, so I don't know what else it'd be called), or how often that page is actually checked? There's an essentially Antwerp source, hence the "A" in the name, that is actually a bunch of libraries and such, as shown here: http://anet.ua.ac.be/desktop/anet/static/partners_n.html
and all the information needed for adding it is found here: http://dev.anet.ua.ac.be/bvv/bvv-2260.html
It'd be quite useful of a source for anyone in this region.

Yeah - according to your second link, Anet does have a Z39.50 server, so they should work. Good! More sources is always good.

Thanks Tim! :)

>2 jjmcgaffey: Yep, that was the first thing I asked my husband when he complained that the Vlaamse Centrale Catalogus was just the public library info, so the texts he reads for uni aren't there, but he had this other source that does have them. ;)

Looking at the information on this page: http://dev.anet.ua.ac.be/bvv/bvv-2260.html

I can't seem to connect via Z39.50 to databases listed there (anet, antelope, STCV) (it reports that those databases do not exist).

I *can* connect to database "lvd", however. (I guessed that based on the SRU example searches at the bottom of the page).

Is "lvd" correct, then?

hm, odd. That does appear to give proper results from those searches, so I guess it's right. I've asked my husband to try shooting them an email just to double-check and see if they have anything else to say about it.

So, I guess it's up to you if you want to implement it that way now, since it works, or wait to see if they say anything different...

Thanks!

Why don't we wait to make sure: it'll be easier to start with the correct set, I think.

Okay, the reply is- these are the three databases:

lvd - anet.ua.ac.be:210/lvd
stcv - anet.ua.ac.be:210/stcv
antilope - anet.ua.ac.be:210/antilope

lvd is indeed the proper regular database and they'll correct their page to reflect this;
sctv (Short Title Catalogue Flanders) is the online database of books printed in 17th-century Flanders;
antilope is the collection of scientific magazines in Belgian libraries.

So, you can probably leave out the latter two, I doubt they'll really be needed on here, and lvd is correct. :)

As long as we're doing stuff, is there please any chance of this finally being added in? Pretty please?

You should probably send a message directly to someone, to remind them of this thread.

Is there any word on this front? All of these libraries are a part of Anet: http://anet.ua.ac.be/desktop/anet/core/index.phtml?deskservice=desktop&deskt...

Just a little update on the technical aspect, there are now docs available here: http://anet.be/doc/anet/opac/html/bvv-2260.html#specificaties

Hi all - I'm looking at this to see if I can get it in.

I added Anet as a Belgium source, using the lvd z3950 database.

Let me know if we should use a different database or call it something more specific.

Awesome, thanks so much! The name thing is hard to say. I imagine the libraries of the University of Antwerp, the University of Hasselt and the Erfgoedbibliotheek Hendrik Conscience (heritage library, abbreviated to EHC) are the most important collections of the lot. And while decidedly inaccurate, I suppose calling it something like UAntwerpen would be a whole lot more descriptive to pretty much anybody.

So provided it fits with the general naming patterns, I'd suggest something along the following lines as a reasonable compromise between accuracy and clarity:

Anet (UAntwerpen, UHasselt, EHC, etc.)
