George Chauncey history book

In the late Nineties George Chauncey (Gay New York: Gender, Urban Culture, and the Making of the Gay Male World, 1890-1940) was collecting material for a book on the post- WW II year to the mid-Seventies. I understood that he was virtually finished with gathering his materialover a decade ago. However....still the promised second volume has not appeared.

By any chance, has anyone heard if it is in the pipeline yet, or has he abandoned it.
