Fantasy adventure young heroine

Read it in early 90's, about a young girl kidnapped and raised by a witch, she escapes along with the witch's pets when the villagers kill the witch and burn the house down. She was raised to believe she was horrifically ugly, and always wears a leather mask. The cat, Moglet, has also been disfigured, I don't remember how. There is a goldfish, Piskey, who has a large marble, which turns out to be a pearl, stuck in his mouth. She can speak to these animals, and others. They meet up with a unicorn who has had his horn cut off by a sorcerer, and a hunter. They set out to find cures for their problems. At some point they wind up at a large estate that turns out to be the site of a caged hunt of rare animals by wealthy aristocrats. They end up saving the animals and burning down the estate. Then, one by one, they free themselves of the enchantments cast on them, the girl takes off her mask to find she's actually quite lovely, the witch had lied to her to keep her enslaved. The animals go off and find lives of their own, and she forgets how to speak to animals. She and the hunter fall in love.
