Almost 10 years ago I bought a beautiful 200 page green hard cover book in about A5 size. Inside there were about 5 written pages. In these pages was the story of a book, a book that contained all the world's knowledge. A man had bought this book from a trader at a high price. Upon arriving home he found the book was blank. He raced back to the trader demanding his money back. The trader responded along the lines of, you need a certain level of knowledge to read this book. The remainder of the pages were completely blank.

Does anyone know the title or the author of the book, for the life of me I can't remember. I bought it in Virgin Megastore, a chain book store, and I think it had something to do with Arab philosophy.

I found this "The book which perhaps encapsulates the Sufi Reality is The Book of the Book. It contains nine pages of print, but all the rest of the pages are blank. It predicts all possible responses to itself. This tiny, highly-charged tale is like a mirror reflecting much more than is in the area it is apparently meant to reflect. Every time I read it, I see more in it."
