Challenge tag

We've started to get our challenges organized and the group reads selected so now let's figure out how to tag the books we read for this challenge so our resident number chrunchers can dazzle us with our brilliance!

Just "2014" might include people tagging the year they've read the book or the year it was published so we should settle on something more distinctive.

Ideas - 14 in 14
2014CC

I tag all books with the year I read them, so everything in the coming year will get a 2014 tag. And everything I read will be part of the challenge, if only in an "overflow" category. So I don't bother to double-tag. For me, the year is enough.

2014CC sounds good to me, although I personally count everything I read (or 99.9% of it) in the challenge, so "read in 2014" will cover it for me :) But I will also be tagging my CAT reads ("2014 CC Geo CAT", "2014 CC Mystery CAT" and "2014 CC Random CAT").

I always forget to tag my books for the category challenge. Maybe I'll find time to tag the 2013 ones soon. I've only got about 150 to do. I like the idea of 2014CC which is short and sweet!

My instinct is to use a space: 2014 CC. Will that make any difference as far as tag uniformity? Either way, I'm good with the concise form.

I used 2013CC for this year, so 2014CC is only fitting for next year.

I started last year carefully tagging, but forgot about it somewhere along the way. I'll try to do better this coming year. 2014CC looks good to me.

I would also opt for 2014CC.

2014CC is fine with me

For consistancy with my previous years tagging I'll use 14 in 14.

I like the short and sweet concept of 2014 CC. I started out with good intentions tagging my books and fell behind. Plus I am such a moody reader I change my mind often about what I want to read. I will try to stick with some sort of plan next year.

Can we just merge the most prevalent tags, as we have done in years past? I don't actually know how to do it, but I know there are people in this group who do! :)

I'm not one of those but at least this thread will give those-with-ability an idea of what the different tags might be.

Yes, once they're actually in use they can be combined. Someone first has to propose the combination, and then enough people have to vote on it to meet the threshold. They can be posted here at that point so members can make that happen.
