This November 22 is the 50th anniversary of C. S. Lewis' death. Wouldn't it be appropriate to gather favorite quotes from The Chronicles of Narnia throughout the next year?

Bits of dialogue and significant plot moments could be included, I think, as well as quotes of the usual sort.

Tentative schedule:
The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe . . . Nov-Dec 2013
Prince Caspian . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Jan-Feb 2014
The Voyage of the Dawn Treader . . . . . . . Mar-Apr 2014
The Silver Chair . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . May-June 2014
The Horse and His Boy . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . July-Aug 2014
The Magician's Nephew . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Sept-Oct 2014
The Last Battle . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Nov-Dec 2014

I know, I know--that's actually a little more than a year. :D

"There's nothing that spoils the taste of good ordinary food half so much as the memory of bad magic food." LWW, Ch. IX

So true.

"I was angry with him and I think that helped him to go wrong." - LWW, Ch. XII

Peter's kingliness shows here, even before he protects Lucy from the wolf.

"This castle is a thing of yesterday. Your great-great-grandfather built it." - Prince Caspian, Ch. IV

Historical perspective, glimpsed suddenly, and a bit unsettling for Caspian, I imagine.

"'You come of the Lord Adam and the Lady Eve,' said Aslan. 'And that is both honour enough to erect the head of the poorest beggar, and shame enough to bow the shoulders of the greatest emperor in earth.'" - Prince Caspian, Ch. XV

On to the utter East!

"But in an instant he realised the truth. That dragon face in the pool was his own reflection." - The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, Ch. VI

"'Child,' said Aslan, 'did I not explain to you once before that no one is ever told what would have happened?'"
- The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, Ch. X

If . . . if . . . if only!

"Why were you so near the edge, Human Child?"
"I was showing off, Sir." - The Silver Chair, Ch. II.

"After a pause, and after a struggle in their minds, all four of them said together, 'You are right. There is no sun.'" - The Silver Chair, Ch. XII.

I think this is my favorite scene in the book.

"Now," said Bree. "All that about galloping for a day and a night, like in stories, can't really be done. It must be walk and trot: but brisk trots and short walks." - The Horse and His Boy, Ch. IX.
