I read it a few years ago. The strange thing is that I read all three books (actually owned the hardcovers) in a row, so I must have liked them at the time. Still, my impression afterwards is not as good, and I don't even own the books anymore.

I found them quite ya and did not finish them.

Haven't re-read them in a long time, but assiming I can find my copy amoungst the boxes I'll join in for a read. Trudi's style has a few quirks in it, but is overall quite fun I think.
From looking over my reviews I think I prefered her Age of Five trilogy. But she has written a lot more in the Magician's Guild universe, so maybe I'm not a good representation of her fanbase.

I read this trilogy earlier this year and wasn't terribly impressed (especially with book 3), but I'll watch this thread and hope for some observations that make me rethink that assessment.

I can't find a Spoiler thread for discussions. I finished rereading the book a while ago and was waiting for others before posting my thoughts.
I agree that the book is fun and certainly keeps you reading, but actually a lot of it seems like filler, and the characters aren't anything special at this point.
