If you're interested in aviation history related to World War II, I recommend Shockwave : Countdown to Hiroshima by Stephen Walker. The book recounts the mission to bomb Hiroshima and is a complement to John Hersey's classic Hiroshima. It's also much more readable than most of the memoirs or other accounts of the mission.
