I recently ran across a listing of the top 50 books about Winston Churchill according to the Churchill Centre.
Here is the link: http://www.winstonchurchill.org/learn/books-about/book-reviews
I would add some later publications, including Winston's War: Churchill, 1940-1945 by Max Hastings and The Last Lion: Winston Spencer Churchill: Defender of the Realm, 1940-1965 by William Manchester and Paul Reid.

Carlo d'Este's Warlord: A Life of Winston Churchill at War, 1874-1945, published in 2009, deserves to be on the list, too.
