http://www.nationalreview.com/article/384081/smarter-thou-charles-c-w-cooke made me break out in laughter. National Review actually printed something like this? "anybody who conforms to the Left’s social and moral precepts while wearing glasses and babbling about statistics" isn't a real nerd? And look, they believe things we don't; isn't that hysterical?
I expected better from National Review. I expected something substantial, not something that just mocks the other side. I though they were more eloquent, more erudite then this.

Bill Buckley is dead which makes a difference...

Well liberals use that too hmm...

The National Review is not what it once was.
The question of what makes a nerd is an interesting one in which everyone seems determined to argue that whatever they are is "true" and all variations are merely posers. While I wouldn't want a return to the days of nerds being outcasts, wouldn't it be nice if we could all just be nerds in our own nerd-like way and not worry about whether that other guy deserved his X-Man comic collection?

William F. Buckley was certainly a "nerd"! (Now "nerds" are "in" eh...)

And their final complaint is that the President made an introduction to the new version of Cosmos???
Pffft.
They would also have complained if he didn't.

By now most of you know I come from a divided household. My husband is a "hold your nose" Republican.
The other day I was in the city and ran into a bit of construction. Had to move over in my lane for on coming traffic. Moved over a bit too far and drove over a huge curb.....ground about one third of my wheel rims right off (I have black wheel rims...there is no hiding this) My husband saw the sad sorry state of my nice rims and freaked.....asked me what happened. My reply ? "That damn Obama !" He had to think about it for a while. It was long enough for me to make a get away.
Just proves that in some circles, Obama can and will be blamed for EVERY thing.

That article is like stupid on parade.

If one is a "hold your nose" (and vote) Republican I guess he'd always be breathing through his mouth?...

I would wipe my ass with the NR but I think the pages would be too slick for that. So I'll just stick with old newspapers.
