NancyNova 2015 Mt TBR

Boekentrol asked for the # of ABC TBRs...gulp....

A guesstimate (providing they really are listed on bookcrossing) It's 1/4 of my total books: 238 non-romance and 275 romances.

I named #s last year - and that didn't work.

So, for this year I rearranged the bookshelves and put all the ABC TBRs together - in the hopes that they will be the FIRST ones read....if I can stay on track.

As an addendum, after reading Sofitel's post, I have no idea which ABC TBRs I have had the longest. In the process of converting at least most of the ABC TBRs into LibraryThing, so I can figure that out.

5/7 update: moving the snail/shamrock to the top...and the snail is still in the lead!

ABC TBRs

Mixed TBRs

Good luck with your challenge this year!

What are ABC TBRs?

ABC = already been crossed.

That's opposed to MY own TBRs, which are another huge stash that I'm trying to stay out of, until the ABC ones move along.

I can't believe I've been a Bookcrosser since 2003 and have never heard of the term ABC. Thanks for the clarification!

>1 nancynova: Glad to see you back for the 2015 challenge!

To figure out which ABC TBRs I've had the longest, I sort them by "Recently Journalled" and then filter them by registrant=others. Does this work for you?

>1 nancynova: Welcome back!
No problem that you have no numbers. I'm not so strickt on that. It was more that my own amount gave me a huge fright, so I was kind of curious if you / the other members have similar amounts.

Anyway: good luck on your challenge! If you need us to cheer for you, please say so, we'll be happy to type some encouragements!

>5 mathgirl40: I did it the same way, but I noticed, that it is a wings feature. If a BookCrosser has no wings, that selection may give other results.

Well, that sort of works. If I didn't add another j/e since I got the book, that might work. But I think extra j/e's are my difference between what I see in LibaryThing and bookcrossing.

Yes, it's a wings feature. I also have books in different categories on bookcrossing.....just to make it a little harder (or easier - the romances are banished to the reserved section)

Now that I took a long look at my stash, I'm back with goals to try to keep me honest:

50 ABC TBRs

50 Mixed TBRs (might be mine or from another)

(Edited 4/1 to bump the tickers to the first post)

Good luck NancyNova. Nice to see you here.

It's 100 books - with at least 50 that were registered by someone else....and all that were in my possession before 1/1/15.

Last year I only managed 15 registered by others (that weren't romances). I'm really hoping I can do better this year.

Good luck for your 2015 challenge. Looks like you might need it ;)

Finished 1 ABC TBR Honeymoon with my Brother
Finished 1 TBR of my own Baking Cakes in Kigali

Both are moving along to other bookcrossers.

Nice progress, nancynova!

Well done. I'm trying to only focus on others books at the moment and dont want to keep them sitting here! I dread to think when I will get to my own! Will probably wild release most of mine ( as in OBCZ) as I can only really afford UK postage.

You're doing well so far. I finally got to an ABC book. I figured I'd better start one before the month is out since I plant to do 12 this year!

And the snail moves forward by one.

The Stone Diaries - my oldest rabck book. Excellent!

The shamrock and the snail are now dead even. 7 ABC TBRs in January & 7 TBRs of mine.

Next up: the oldest TBR that I have registered Joanna's Husband and David's Wife from 2008.

I see the snail is now leading by a short head. Keep zooming snail!

Finished a bunch. The snail is pulling into the lead!

For the snail:
Inhale-Exhale (touchstone linking to wrong book)
Too Many Grooms
Along Came Trouble
A Window in Time
Jigs and Reels
Isn't it Rich?

>26 nancynova: Wow, your snail is going at the speed of a hare! ;-) Well done!

More for the snail, who keeps the lead

Lake News
Krik? Krak?
The Pint-Sized Secret
Where He Belongs (bad touchstone)
The Least Likely Groom

More March additions for the snail, who is still slightly in the lead:

Her Little Secret (links to wrong book)
House of Sand and Fog - great book!
Long-Lost Father

Alas, April will start off with 2 new books for school, before I can delve back into some ABC non-romance TBRs

I finally synch'd my spreadsheet, bookcrossing and Librarything entries. There's a 40+ book discrepancy, but there's so many books I'm not going to bother figuring it out at the moment. I'll synch again when the stash is much lower or I move, whichever comes first.

>29 nancynova: I'm impressed that you're trying to keep all those in synch. I'm afraid that, despite my efforts to keep my lists up to date, they're all in a jumble. I've still got loads of books on my shelf that haven't been added to LT yet.

31nancynova

I try to keep things in synch, but it doesn't last long. I LOVE the new checkout feature, because I loan a grocery bag/year to a friend & this way I'm not hunting for a book that isn't in my house!

Been a while since I updated this.

Still managing to read the ABC TBRs first, just barely, since it's mostly the romances that are getting moved along.

But, it does mean the ABC TBR stash is going down, since over 1/2 of that stash was romances

Snail and Shamrock updated above

You're doing great. I'm trying to get back on track too.

Back again this month with an update. Over the top with the ABC TBRs due to lots of bookstogive's romances! 17 more to go for the shamrock.

>34 nancynova: I don't have any of her romances, but a lot of my TBRs have come from bookstogive's mystery VBB.
