Hello All! I'm new to this group. I've been on LT for a few years, but I haven't been very active nor have I joined any groups. I'm hoping that along with reading more books in 2015 I will be more social as well.
I feel obliged to post a photo so here is some carved book art by someone named Guy Laramee:

I haven't set in stone the order in which I will read my books, I'm merely using this year to start filling in some rather large gaps in my reading history. Many books on my list I categorize as, "I can't believe I haven't read that book. How embarrassing! Everyone's read that book. What's wrong with me?" Also on this year's reading list are a few rereads I haven't visited in many years and a sprinkling of mysteries (my favorite genre) to keep me excited. I didn't read much as a child so I'm including some children's and YA lit. Finally, I've been planning for years to read a biography on each U.S. president so I'll begin that journey this year.
Here's a partial list of what I'll be reading:
Sir Gawain and the Green Knight
Uncle Tom's Cabin
Animal Farm
Charlotte's Web
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas
Gulliver's Travels
And To Think That I Saw It on Mulberry Street
The Little Prince
Something Wicked This Way Comes
The Bell Jar
Death of a Salesman
I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings
Leap into Darkness: Seven Years on the Run in Wartime Europe
Moby Dick
The Sun Also Rises
The Secret Place (Dublin Murder Squad)
Rabbit, Run
Oliver Twist
I'm currently reading The Color of Blood (Ed Loy PI) by Declan Hughes. I'm a huge fan of Tana French. While I was waiting for her new book to come out last year, I felt a longing to return mentally to modern-day Dublin. So, I looked into other Irish mystery writers. Hughes is pretty good. He doesn't compare to French but his books are commanding my attention without taxing my brain... and, for the moment, that's what I need.
I look forward to reading the other threads from this group and wish you and yours a very happy and prosperous 2015.
~DontCallMeLeslie (It's actually perfectly fine to call me Leslie.) :)

Hi, and welcome! Wow, that is an amazing list of books - you've got some great reading ahead of you this year!

Welcome! Good list there.. Have you seen the trilogy starting with The Land of Dreams? Norwegian Scandicrime mystery set in Minnesota. I just finished the first and am pushing it on everyone here. :)

Thank you, scaifea and drneutron! Your warm welcomes are most appreciated.
Because of your suggestion, drneutron, I've just added The Land of Dreams to my reading list. I'm always up for great mysteries from unfamiliar authors so I'm very happy to receive a recommendation. Thank you kindly.
Happy reading!
