Sherlockiana or Holmesiana are evident choices for all things Sherlock Holmes, but what is the best tag for all things Austen? Just 'Jane Austen' is too dull. I'm not sure if 'Austeniana' really cuts it, though!

Does "Janeite" refer to a person ("she is a Janeite") or can we also expand it to be an adjective ("all things Janeite")?

I think Janeite primarily refers to a person - I haven't seen it used any other way. I wouldn't mind it as an adjective, but I think I'd prefer something with 'Austen' in it. Tricky!

How about Austenian

I like that. So what do we have so far?
Austenian, for all things Austenian. (Her reaction was positively Austenian.)
Austeniana, for the Jane Austen universe. (I have a rather large collection of Austeniana, including a full-size bust of Mr. Darcy!)
Janeite, for a connoisseur of Austeniana. (I got into an argument with some devoted Janeites.)

Those are great everyone :-).
Except I can't pronounce "Austeniana".
Aw-stin-ee-on-ah. Is that right?

I still like Austen-tatious! Maybe it can be for Austen things or people that too over the top.
I know, I know. You can never be too over the top when it comes to Jane!

From my days in the Bootmakers of Toronto, I seem to recall that "Sherlockiana" tended to be used exclusively on the west side of the Atlantic, while our good cousins in the British Isles favoured "Holmesiana" instead.
So we could keep up the customs by having North Americans (in our typical overfamiliar style) use "Janeiana" while the Brits use "Austeniana" :-)

Austeniana sounds like the name of a feisty heroine in a particuarly unfortunate Regency romance...
