Members have long been confused by LibraryThing's distinction between searching Your books and searching site. Depending on where you are, there are two search boxes.
We're keeping the two search boxes. But we've added a collection-by-collection Your books area at the top of the site search. So when you search for, say, "book", you'll get counts and links to search your catalog as well as works, authors, series and etc.
Example:

Note that we still auto-select the work level. And the Your Books links go to the page, as was always true for Add books and the "Member Libraries" section at the bottom. We toyed with different colors for the two types of links—links that go somewhere vs. links that show up on the page. Nothing looked right, so we're satisfied this may be best.

The problem for me hasn't necessarily been that there are two search boxes, but that the one for my catalog isn't accessible from everywhere else on LT. This is more helpful than before in that respect. Also it will cut down on my wrong-box searches from the catalog page.

Nice, but "Your books" and "To read" ard not translatable. It would be even nicer if they were.

Thanks. I'll get on it.

>8 miketopper: : it's ok, they have translated themselves automatically. Thanks.

Yeah, overall, they'd already been in the system for ages.
