A man wakes up from a coma with no memory to find someone is trying to kill him. There is an underwater world where he meets a woman with green hair and she seduces him. He has power's maybe ??? the book cover was either maroon/red or green with gold detail very pretty. i read this book back in 98' but do to a house fire lost it and can not remember the name. Thanks

That sounds like Nine Princes in Amber by Roger Zelazny.

Seconded. That book is the first in the First Chronicles of Amber, which is a smashing read. (The second chronicles not so much, imho.)

Thirding the Amber Chronicles. Good recall of the important details. Really really good series, but I think reading the first book by itself would be very peculiar.
