Anybody else seeing Touchstone oddities?

I just Touchstoned James Fenton's An Introduction to English Poetry, and the Touchstones that showed up are "Bill Buford (others)" for the author and "Sense and sensibility by Jane Austen (others)" for the work.

I wouldn't have bothered, only it seems unusual for an author and their work to Touchstone incorrectly.

Is anyone else getting odd Touchstone results at the moment?

The Woman in White comes up as Ar'n't I a woman? female slaves in the plantation South

I've been getting lots of strange results from links on LT lately. It's gotten so that I've stopped linking. Here are just two of the crazy link problems I've come across lately:

Stephenie Meyer's New Moon linked as: John Steinbeck's East of Eden
Stephenie Meyer's Eclipse linked as: Katie MacAlister's Blow me down

Some that have resolved easily in the past aren't doing so any more.

I'll update this with a few examples later.

I noticed that when I touchstoned a book, the first title would be something very odd, but then if I clicked on "others", the book I wanted would be at or near the top of the list. Strange.

It happens with all the books previously mentioned in this thread.

I think these problems are the result of Casey having problems getting Solr to index everything correctly. He's on the case.

I was having trouble too, but since you are already working on it, you may not need this info. But just in case..

Beautiful Joe by M. Saunders touchstone came up the The golden apples of the sun book - and still does...

I noticed this today as well. The book to touchstone matches are really out there!

I stopped using touchstones...not sure why my books dont seem to touchstone very well...some have, but only after a number of attempts. Is it because they are mostly pre-ISBN? Not sure, but just offer it up as my 2 cents

pj, I don't think it has anything to do with ISBNs, or obscurity, or anything else:

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows doesn't even touchstone properly. (At least in this case it finds a related book.)

This has been a known problem for a while, and they're working on it.
