Book I read as a kid when i was in 4th grade, stuck with me all my life and would love to find it again.
This was about 30 years ago, (late 70s - early 80s)
Story was about a young girl (character 12-14years old) who lived inside a domed city, she was a book nerd, and they had moving sidewalks called 'wigwams'. She decided to go out on an adventure and managed to escape the dome and wanted to find a tree to see if they actually existed.
For a long time I thought the book was titled "Something called a tree." but have never been able to find anything under than title
