Two soldiers take a ten-ish boy on a tour of army training. I remember it involved (among many other things) pugil sticks and possibly the phrase "We train hard, so we have to eat a lot."
In my mind's eye it was a Little Golden Book, but I'm not sure about that. It was mostly photos- possibly black and white. I think it was printed in the 60s.
Thanks in advance.

Perhaps Do You Know What I'm Going to Do Next Saturday?, which includes a boy fantasizing about "playing" with Marines, including the lines "You have to keep eating if you want to keep going" and "Then I'll box another way. I'll box with sticks."
