I like LT's automatic recommendations" feature, but I really wish I could filter out titles already in my library. I assume it doesn't help anyone to get recommendations of books they already own.
It would also be nice to be able to filter out DVDs from automatic recommendations. I use LT for books, not DVDs, and DVD recommendations are a useless distraction.
Thanks!

It does, or should, filter out books already in your library. (Your LT library, that is; it's not psychic.) Do you have an example of one that is in your library, properly combined, and still showing up in your recommendations? Omnibuses can throw this off, of course.
Agreed wholeheartedly about the desire to exclude DVDs, which will surprise precisely nobody.

The OP may be talking about the recommendation on the work page. Since the ones in my library are clearly marked, I have no trouble with seeing them there.
DVDs are another matter, and I also have no need to see them.

Some people have books in their Wishlist collections that they would still like to show up on the work page under Recommendations.

The automatic recommendations on my home page currently recommends the following books (all of which I own and list in my LT library): Rendezvous With Rama, Clarke; Metamorphoses, Ovid; Stranger in a Strange Land, Heinlein; The Song of Roland, Anonymous; The Histories, Herodotus; The Peloponnesian War, Thucydides; The Satires, Juvenal. There are presumably more in the recommended list that I own; I only looked for a handful.
It's not a huge deal, as they are not the majority, but I keep coming across them. And I have no idea what "properly combined" means, so this may be my fault!

>6 tnilsson: The Ovid and Juvenal you have entered in a 'Library of Latin literature Collection'. Even if you had marked the work to work relationships, recommendations doesn't take that into account.
Stranger in a Strange Land has the cut and uncut editions. You have uncut, presumably the cut edition is the one being recommended.
You have the Landmark Edition of Herodotus, which people have decreed should stay as a separate work.
Rendezvous with Rama is sitting there at the top of your list in the work that you own, so unless someone just combined it, that is a bug.

I think I might be seeing the same bug.
Among the automatic recommendations on my home page is one added 11 January which has a broken cover image. According to the title tooltip, this is Terry Pratchett's Jingo: stage adaptation. If I follow the link, I'm taken to the page for Jingo the novel, a different work and one I already have in my library.
Edited to add: the broken recommendation appears only on the home page, not in https://www.librarything.com/profile/konallis/recommendations.

Jingo was combined and separated the other week, there were too many novels with the adaptation isbn to remove them all from the novel. This may cause problems in recommendations.
