Just received an exciting email from FS - including some sneak peeks of books to be published in May and news that Folio will be publishing Foucault’s Pendulum this May too! March's books will be launched next week.

Any guesses on the titles? Is the right hand illustration Foucault’s Pendulum itself?

Pretty sure the middle image is for Live and Let Die, to continue the James Bond series following Casino Royale's release last year.

Now do we only get three books or will there be more?

>4 Lady19thC:

There will be more. The teaser just shows 3 pictures - that is all. Same as last time :)

>3 scottyw: - Live and Let Die was published by Folio in 2007. Since I don't seem to have received the email, I can't comment on the illustrations.

It's a corpse-like figure, wearing a tux, presumably holding a martini glass.

>3 scottyw: I totally agree with you - it does look right for Live and Let Die. But it being the next Bond would be hard to square with what was said on this thread about the next book coming this Xmas, not May: http://www.librarything.com/topic/197170#5469677 But I very much hope you are rignt

They ultimately sped up the Aubrey-Maturin releases, didn't they? I'm just not sure to what other work that image would correspond, but I suppose it could be wishful thinking on my part!

>2 foliomusthave: "Knight of the Tetragrammaton, Knight Executioner of Florian..." I do believe that you are correct.

Isn't the spectacled man in the third picture John Lennon?

If the middle picture isn't for Live and Let Die, what else could it be? All I could think of was The Shining.

It could be the Corpse Reviver section of The Savoy Cocktail Book by Harry Craddock

>3 scottyw: I believe there will be another James Bond release, but probably not until the Autumn, and it's unlikely to be Live and Let Die. I'd like to think they'll ask Fay Dalton back to provide the illustrations.

I suppose the hope was they would release them all, and in order, making Live and Let Die next in line.

I agree, would like to see them done in order, and two per year.

A Diamond Anniversary edition of Diamonds are Forever would have been nice this March, but I don't believe it's on the cards.

Now that I come to think about it, Margery Allingham's The Fashion In Shrouds features a skeleton found wearing a dinner jacket. The third in Folio's Allingham series seems highly plausible.

Any ideas on the first (left hand) image?

2nd maybe American Psycho. Would Folio go there ??
I thought the 3rd was a picture of Campion, but on closer inspection maybe not.
I'm thinking a Wilkie Collins character for the first.

The first reminded me of Omar Rayyan's work for the Brown Fairy Book.

The third one has "knight of the executioner of...." in writing behind the two people. Not sure what that is from but thought I would post to see if someone else knew.

So now we know two of these three: The Shining (middle) and Foucault’s Pendulum (right).

Any guesses for the left hand image?
