Are there any alternate history novels that center around factions of the German military that rise up against the Nazis? I'm not referring to individuals that clandestinely aid the Allies, spies or underground movements, but rather large groups of soldiers and officers that openly rebel.

Are you familiar with the work of Harold C. Deutsch? He wrote two definitive books on the real military oppositions within Germany. The Conspiracy against Hitler in the Twilight War and Hitler and His Generals: The Hidden Crisis, January-June 1938

He also edited two volumes of alternative history short stories What If?: Strategic Alternatives of WWII being one of them.

He happens to have been my mother's uncle.

I might have a copy of What If? to give you, but I won't be in KY to check for a while yet.
