Book turned into mini series about a family

searching for a book perhaps Danielle Steel , one of the female characters is unfaithful. things her plastic surgeon husband doesn't know, she asks for his help to look younger and he disfigures her. She covers her face with a hat and veil after that. She is not the main character.
My Mother loved the mini series years ago and I am searching for the book for her. Thanks for any help you can give.

What timing! Last week, I had the urge to re-read this book and just checked it out of the library 2 days ago.

BTW, the tv mini-series is available on youtube. I just watched it last weekend.
