>1 Collectorator: Since it looks like your example has been taken care of, I'll leave this open for now in case another one comes up. Just to be sure I understand the problem—the book in question should have listed the author as Margaret H. Simpson from the beginning (which it is now), not Margaret Simpson?

>5 Collectorator: You might be right there. Tim's out today, but I'll point this one out to him on Monday, and see if we can't get it sorted. Those examples you gave me were helpful, but I haven't been able to narrow down the bug much (probably due to my not being technical staff, and thus not knowing how this works in the background). Anyway, thanks for your patience.
ETA: Note to devs: See me for examples. I don't want to draw attention to them here, in case someone decides to "help" and try to fix them.

Please bear in mind that other people may independently encounter these examples and fix them out of a genuine desire to help, not a malicious "help".

>7 lorax: Oh, absolutely. I just didn't want to put them out there and draw attention to them. :)

I sure did, and I had to sit on my hands but I managed not to try to fix it. Hard impulse to fight.

>12 Collectorator: I just hit the recalculate title/author button and that fixed it. And don't say I ruined a test case because recalculating is what you're supposed to do in these cases.

It probably was entered originally as Alexander and then the person with the book changed it, thus Alexander on the zero copy edition. As I understand that's how zero copy editions come to exist. I expect that the system would have eventually gotten around to recalculating the author for that page.

>15 jjwilson61: Has anything really changed? LT doesn't instantly recalculate the author every time the editions on that work change, otherwise there'd be no need for the recalculate button.

What's an open bug here? Is this perhaps the same issue recently fixed with authors that only exist as added primary authors?
