There is a book that I've been looking for, literally, for years. I'm going insane. I read it in either seventh or eighth grade (at least 11 years ago). It was likely written in the 1980s-1990s, maybe late 70s. I can't really remember much from it except:
1. The girl lives with her mom but is in the middle of moving (I think the main character was talking about the carpet and wallpaper in the beginnings of this book, perhaps in the first chapter). It might be due to her mother being remarried and moving in with her new husband. IDK!!
2. The girl moves to a mansion (with a tennis court and shed out back *I might be getting this confused with another book...I hope not*)
3. She begins to have dreams about a guy who (for some reason) is really captivating or sparkles or is bedazzling (I just remember him being like super shimmery or something like that).
4. She is having both dreams and day dreams about a guy who seduces her. I think he touches her or kisses her and he feeds from her ( He's like a vampire or succubus or something).
5. She likes it at first (maybe) but eventually becomes afraid of him. Meanwhile, he's visiting her and stuff and she starts to see him walking around the house.
6. It might be a part of a trilogy or at least have a second book.
I'm stressing about this.
Also, there is another book I've read but can't remember much about except it's much more recent maybe 2000-2008 tops. It's paranormal romance and
I kind of remember more about this one.
1. The main character is a woman with raven hair and blue eyes. Se's a vampire either running a hotel for supernaturals or is boarding in it. She meets this vampire dude who knows her father or something and has a phobia about being around large crowds of women. I remember one of the last scenes was him being protected by a bunch of women with cooking utensils like frying pans and knives and stuff. He freaked out because he was afraid they were coming after him, but they were actually attacking his kidnappers or something. Anyways, the book might've been from his point of view too. The two leads hook up at the end (might've gotten married?) and all's well that ends well.
