There is a book set in Wales on the seaside. There is a large mansion that three sisters own, when they died they left it to a young girl who had lived with them, I believe. She had left to go to London to have a child, maybe?
Regardless, they leave this house to her, and she opens a bed-and-breakfast. The book follows all of the characters that end up at the bed-and-breakfast for opening weekend. There is a couple that had one this weekend stay instead of winning a trip to France by winning first place. There is a boy who was party to a robbery and was taken up to this house for refuge by his uncle.
The uncle falls in love with a school secretary that whose horrible boss had just retired & didn't appreciate the secretary at all. He started working and met a girl and fell in love. They live in a cottage there. They had a wedding, and his mother came, to his surprise. The most notable part of the book was when a girlfriend and the boyfriends mother (who did not like each other at all) got stuck together on this weekend at the bed-and-breakfast. They end up going for a hike at the wrong time, and they go into a cave at high tide. They almost die.
The book is basically about how things work out for a reason and how this new bed-and-breakfast brought all of these peoples lives together for the best. Does anyone know the name of this book or the author??
