I read a book years ago. It was about a Greek guy who married an English girl and they divorced not long after the wedding. His family wasn't friendly toward her. The locals taught her the language and I don't think that he knew that she was learning Greek. For some reason she had to return but I don't remember what and he realised that she was never made welcome and that she could speak Greek.
Another book, also Mills and Boons, also about a Greek guy. She was on holiday and met him, she though that he worked at the hotel or resort she was staying at and he showed her around a small island that was close to where she was staying. She was supposed to meet him later but got a message that her father was sick or that he died and left for England and I don't think she left a message for him and he was angry and he blackmailed her back to the island and kept her in the cottage or something that was on his estate and don't want her to meet up with the people she met there as she was now his mistress.

Have you any idea what year these books were published?

I think late nineties 2000 - 2006. Not sure. I had these books but they disappeared from my bookshelf years ago.

I think the first one might be Michelle Reid's The Passionate Marriage. The h was learning Greek from the locals.
Leandros married Isobel on the crest of a wild affair. But, within a year, the marriage crashed and burned. Three years on and Leandros wants to finalize their divorce. But face-to-face with Isobel, Leandros is in for a shock: their all-consuming mutual attraction is just as strong as ever! Suddenly his plan has changed, and he's ready to tame his headstrong wife...whatever it takes!
