I've read the reviews of The Odyssey and see that a lot of them praise the translation, but without saying whose translation they are talking about. I expect reviews of other translated works are similar.

I've noticed this also. In my own reviews I've provided the appropriate ISBN when mentioning something specific to an edition and try to mention the name of the translator also, when it's a translation. I think a lot of people are either unaware that all reviews are appearing under a shared work; or more likely, just haven't considered that those reading the review wont know which edition they are referring to.

I'd love to see an ISBN included in the review box with the username, date, and permanent link icon, unless there's already a quick and easy way to find out which edition of a work another user has that I'm not aware of.

It would good to figure out a way to persuade every reviewer to put the translators name into their review. Maybe all books whose original language is not that of the reviewer could somehow be flagged in the reviewing process.

I find this very frustrating as well! It's also a problem on Amazon. I'd been wondering about making a feature request where we could see which edition of a book the reviewer/rater owned....
